Several studies have shown that sex kills faster than some ailment in the world, if care is not taken.
Medical experts are of the opinion that deaths during consensual sex account for about 0.6% of all sudden deaths. Although not many people are putting their minds to this, it is worthy of note.

Here are a few ways sex can kill you:

1. Cardiac Arrest

This is a sudden stop in blood circulation due to the failure of the heart. According to a study conducted by a leading American medical journal, each extra hour of sexual activity in a week opens one up to an increased risk of 2-3 heart attacks and one sudden cardiac death per 10,000 person.

2. Infidelity

There is always this story of a married man dying after “a big meal with alcohol.” Men who were unfaithful have the high tendency to experience severe cardiac events during sex. A related study seemed to support the death during extramarital sex theory. Fourteen of the 20 cases of coital death, happened during an affair.

3. Haemorrhage

In simple terms, this is called stroke. Experts claim that indulging in sexual intercourse can trigger a subarachnoid haemorrhage i.e. is bleeding into the subarachnoid space—the area between the arachnoid membrane and the pia mater surrounding the brain via the Valsalva maneuver. The Valsalva maneuver is performed by moderately forceful attempted exhalation against a closed airway, usually done by closing one’s mouth, pinching one’s nose shut while pressing out as if blowing up a balloon.

4. Sex Drugs

Viagra use has been linked to sudden cardiovascular death during sexual activity among elderly or otherwise infirm men. Researchers also say that prescription or recreational drugs, such as cocaine can also possibly contribute to unexpected deaths during consensual sex.
