With its rear clamshell doors where does it store it fuel?

Won't this have adverse effects on its range?

easy force multiplier ... you let your enemies use up munition on throwaways like this and have a follow on force a few minutes after the initial attack (drones) and you get a friggin massacre .... throw in some jammers to muddle up the battle area even more
You could actually shoot them down with your airplane's internal gun (cost next to nothing) or if you want to get up-close-and-personal, you can send the drone spiraling down by tipping it over with the wing of your airplane. Drones are best used in uncontested airspace or an airspace that you have already established air superiority.

If I use ordinary bullets to bring down your thousand dollar drone, how is that cost effective for you? I am sure you have heard of electronic warfare, where they can take over the control of your drone without expending much resources.

The derelict aircraft were meant to be disposed off in the first place.

Now converting them into disposable drones to saturate and overwhelm the adversary is a good way to distract them.

Whatever action the adversary takes to counter the drones threats would only work to your advantage because the objective would already have been achieved which is to make them take action.

Go and read up on Pentagon's Gremlin swarm drones... Picture attached

In a airspace filled with EM emissions of all kinds , data links, SATCOM links will be the first casualty.

Bundle in AST interceptors / MW based soft kill systems to take out navigation and communication satellites overhead and Ur good to go

Too many cooks spoil the soup grin grin grin

True! Many of us have no idea what a 1st or even 2nd world high tech battle space looks like. They've already have weaponised satellites!

What if the RAP ( real time air picture ) is not available to u ? or it gets disrupted ?
And
Ur manned assets arrive smack into Ur UAVs
How r u going to cope with battle space management all the while ensuring that they r not get shot down or collide with each other or end up in a blue on blue situation. ?

Seeking a partner for consultancy

5-6 years for first flight, maybe earlier if the usual stupidity is cured at the present rate under the present government.

It seems Akash sam has been fitted with IIR seeker.

So now Akash missiles are guided by

1. CLOS (command line of sight guidance)
2. RF seeker
3. IIR seeker

As I once explained CLOS guidence can be combined with RF seeker guidance , and hence CLOS guidence can also be combined with IIR based guidance ensuring high kill probability even under intense countermeasures.

These 3 types of guidence ( CLOS/RF/IIR ) either standalone or in combination with CLOS guidance will provide a advantage over the hostile threats. Especially complicating their countermeasure efforts.

IIR guidance will especially be useful to shoot down low flying drones, PGMs and cruise missiles.

And will also provide lock on before launch ie almost instantaneous capability to target pop up targets like helicopters/cruise missiles in minimal reaction time compared to the CLOS and RF seeker ( can also provide lock on before launch but need a longer warm up time ) guided akash missiles.

So basically in order to defeat Akash sam systems hostile aircrafts will have to deal with

1.the land based guidance radars and the active seekers on the missiles or

2.the land based guidence radars and the IIR seekers on the missiles or

3.the missiles guided by RF seekers or

4.the missiles guided by IIR seekers or

5.the missiles guided by CLOS guidence.

South Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) launched the second Dokdo-class landing platform helicopter (LPH) on order for the Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) on 14 May, the country's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said in a statement.
The launch ceremony for Marado (with pennant number 6112), which is set to be delivered to the RoKN by the end of 2020 following trials, was held at HHIC's facilities in Busan. Construction work of the 199 m-long amphibious assault ship began in 2016.
The vessel, which will have a crew of 300 and a maximum speed of 23 kt, will feature a number of locally made combat and radar systems along with other equipment such as propellers and lifts, said DAPA without further elaborating

The Chinese PLA Air Force has conducted the "Red Sword-2018" confrontation exercise. Nearly 100 fighter jets, bombers, early-warning aircraft, and surveillance aircraft participated in the exercise. The "Red Sword" drill is a high-level platform for the systematic training of PLA Air Force members. Recently, the US has revoked an invitation to China to the world’s largest joint naval exercise 2018 Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC).
