That launch speed does not look like Mach15 my friend.
It probably gets to Mach 10+ at some stage in flight or maybe it is the warhead that is hurled at such a speed at the terminal stage.. nobody knows

And reportedly it is said to reach its target envelope in 12 seconds , and so i dont think there is much distinction left between boost / coast ( which i doubt exists ) / terminal stages

So its reported maximum speed of 15 mach can be for the sake of simplicity or rather ' wow ' factor be extrapolated to its launch speed for enthusiast like me - a concession of sorts

The US appears to be trying to achieve Mach 5 to 7 with pure rocketry alobe whereas in fact Russiah hypersonics success may owe more to plasma physics than traditional rocketry.
