If you're in a relationship and you feel consistently tense near your partner, and you can't love them the way you want to, it's obvious something is wrong. Take a critical look at what might be causing it . It may be something wrong with you, your partner or with the relationship.

If you can't seem to find anything that is causing it, take step back. You might be up too close, you need a break to think over things. You may be surprised at what you may find.

Make sure you're not all dependent on the relationship. Do other things that interest you. Get involved in other activities without your partner. You may be putting too much pressure on the relationship.

Check your stress level and make sure your stress is properly managed. If you are stressed up, it always always affects how you react to people. Make sure you're getting enough sleep and relaxing activities.

Check your past if you were Sexually abused. This can be a very strong reason for tense feelings around the opposite sex when you get too close.

Keep the list going, what's your own reason?
