yeah right ..

He provided alternatives for millions of street traders in abia.. How many of them can even afford 5000 per month.
Some people don't even make 5000 a month

I wonder if you are evn gonna say this if it is Lagos or kano..

Hypocritical flat heads.

Get lost. What you understand is totally different from the content of the article.

First, No law against street hawking in Abia State.

Secondly, the "Concentrated Street Shops" referred to here are residential buildings converted to "specialized markets" across the city (not superstores/supermarkets) hence have nothing to do with the phantom millions your warp reasoning anticipated.

Abia state still remains the most unfortunate state in terms of leaders since creation. This is a state were all the roads are in there pristine state especially Umuahia the state capital.the water drainage system is zero even the bank road near the government house overflows with water when it rains. Infrastructure is so poor. I just pray this present governor is ousted for us to test another

see painment.. Stop being so frustrated.

street hawking, street trading, what is the difference?.. Those hawking, if they could afford shops, do you think they will be hawking?

Why not build shops free and give to those traders instead of just banning them like that since its obvious most of cannot afford shops built by givernment (Thats what you and your ilks will say if this happened in Lagos )

You see the problem with iPod Tadpoles.

Just a coupla weeks ago, they e-lynched Ambode and indeed the SW and APC for their "anti-people policies", and today, one of theirs has done exactly the same.

The other time, they blasted Northern lawmakers for kicking against a "gender equality bill" saying Muslims are backward in civilisation- couple of weeks later, the Enugu state HoA members shut down a similar bill, with some of the most vocal opponents to the bill citing verses in the Bible. One wondered then, how many Northerners are in their HoA!

Then the Ese Oruru saga hit us like a thunderbolt and they as usual, lumped all Northerners together and took them to the cleaners! About a month later, two teenage girls were raped to death in Ebonyi by four boys- two of whom were granted bail at the behest of one "Chief Ogbonaya" (I stand to be corrected).

No one would forget the ambassadorial nominee from the North who found it hard to recite the national anthem. iPad Tadpoles yet again lumped all northerners together and cursed the living daylights out of them- two days later, a lady from Ugu Republic, nominated for a similar position couldn't recite the national pledge!!!!

Let me help you one more time. Those carrying goods and their wears across streets will still continue their businesses as usual because they are not involved in this directive.

Those people selling bread and fruits at various road junctions are not inclusive.

As I said before, there are concentrated and specialized unionized line markets operating on residential neighborhoods across the city. The Landlords prefer them to residential tenants because the got the cash to blow. This is the Street trading the directive was given.

Residential Neighborhoods that were converted to markets are the target. Restoration of the city's masterplan is the objective.

oga Ade..

Stop preaching to the choir.

Street trading mostly involve selling stuff on the street and obstructing traffics (mostly in small kiosks or umbrellas) like those selling ugu and fishes or small food joint.
Not necessarily running after cars with fanyogo or gala..

So tomato, tomaeto. Who cares?

Why did govt ban them without providing alternative.

Non of those people you referred to was banned.

The traders and Street treading referred to here include unionized Generator dealers, Electronics, Phones and accessories (wholesales and retails), Electricals, Bookshops, Concentration of Fashion designers, Industrial Spare-parts dealers and the likes that have taken over streets in residential neighborhoods and quarters.
