Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has restated his commitment to continue with the agitation for the actualization of the Biafran State, even if an Igbo man eventually becomes the president of Nigeria.

He said there will be no going back on the struggle until Biafra is realized because according to him, Muslims and Christians cannot live together as one entity as a result of their diverse cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Uwazuruike who spoke at Amuda Isuochi in Umunneochi council area of Abia State during the burial ceremony of the late Mr. John Ejim Madu, father of MASSOB Director of Information, Uchenna Madu, cited injustice and inequality by Nigeria’s political leaders as his major reasons for the agitation.

Uwazuruike who also described the Federal Government’s amnesty granted to the Niger/Delta militants as a sham, insisted that the best that could happen to Nigeria is to carve out Biafra, as applicable in other parts of the world where new nations had emerged after some series of agitation.

He regretted that up till date, some of the MASSOB members, including Vincent Ekwuazi, Samuel Onwuka, Izuchukwu Nzom, Jude Asoanya, Arinze Igbani and others who were detained since 2005, along side Uchenna Madu were still in Nigeria’s prison custody.

He insisted that even as an Igboman is presently the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Enugu Cargo Airport being upgraded to an international status, the River Niger undergoing dredging process and other development strides coming to Igbo land, he was more interest in having a state of Biafra because Nigerian leaders are not trustworthy.

Why has the fed govt not arrested this man for treason or disloyalty to the nation state of Nigeria?
Why is every one so scared of the Ibos, it was the Ibos who lost the war and not the other way round. We need to stop these provocation once and for all(I don't mean start a war against the Ibos)

What does christianity have to do with cultural and ethnic backgrounds among AFRICANS?

Is this suppose to be your concern or their concern?

The truth of the matter is that no African country is matured enough to have equal number of Muslims and Christians which is the case for Nigeria. The south-south and south-east are predominantly christian and it will be good for them to have their own country and arewa should have thier own moslem country. If odua is tolerant enough it can have its own mixture of moslems and christians. The middle belt hmm am not sure about that yet.

When its time for Nigeria to divide we will all know what path to follow don't conclude anything now.

Nigeria, not the North, will not let the East go. If Yoruba wants to go as do Igbo and ND, then the North has nothing to do. If today Yoruba refuses to get involved as they did in the Biafra war, then the North cannot fight Igbo alone. Moreover, the middle belt is getting tired of northern domination. I predict that they will not be willing to join the core north to fight Igbos. So again, the Yoruba has a role to play in Igbos leaving Nigeria

An idle Sea Port makes no economic sense to any nation. The ND will need the money from Igbo merchants. Do not forget that Igbos have no problem with NDs. The new BIAFRA will not include them. We will be economic partners with them.

Igbos will not be INCLUDING anyone forcefully; never. Anyone who wants will join Igbo country willingly. We do not really need another multi-ethnic nation in Igboland.

Clearly, the Yoruba is also tired of northern domination. It is just for them to get their act together. The Yoruba is not a poor region. They have oil in Ondo and some more have been discovered in Lagos. Plus the Lagos port. If Yoruba agrees with the North to leave (although I wonder why the North will let Yoruba go and not let the East go), then it is good for the East because Yoruba will not be joining to fight the East when they eventually leave.

Still ok for Igbo. If yoruba leave, they wont be fighting the Igbo. So Igbo can face the North alone. ND will also not be fighting the Igbo as they also want out. Fair deal

You are talking as if all nigerians put together can fight and win Igbos without the help of external forces. Leave any war between Igbos and the rest of nigerians without any external help and see if we are not going to wipe them of the map of the world.
It happened during the nigerian's aggression against Biafra in 1967 and Biafrans were already matching towards Lagos via ore to take over all nigeria. Their leader Gowon was already preparing to run away from the country due to his fear of the Biafrans until Britain called him to order and promised financial and military assistance to fight the war for them.
USSR, Egypt, Sudan and host of other countries later join in assisting those imbeciles and it still took them a whole three years to get the work of defeating the Biafrans done. So, stop making it as if Yorubas can do anything, after all they are know to be the first to take "Ben Johnson" at the heat of every moment.
