Still doesn't make any sense, what I'd like to know is how they/you are able to tell the charm is reason why he was able to try to break into someone's house? Dude was caught trying to break in(i think) why not arrest him for that alone and leave juju out of it, since there's no way to prove juju did anything?

Like the quran didn't command to kill unbelievers? Or the bible didn't instruct that a woman who was raped be sold to her rapist? What's there not to understand?

It's the media that is focusing on the juju charge not the court.

I don't know about the Quran but I'm pretty sure there's no command to kill unbelievers. However the story about the woman who was rapist and sold to the rapist was in the old testament, that doesn't really count as Jesus is the new testament while the old testament is just for knowledge.

(1)Juju do not work.

(2)It is actually an offence to possess juju in Nigeria.

Now my question is,why are the Herbalist preparing the Juju not been arrested?or should Government make Juju illegal.

Because in Nigeria, a lot of people use charms for evil deeds.

The Bible doesn't brainwash people, people who get brainwashed by the Bible don't not understand the words in the Bible. They are brainwashed the people they call spiritual leaders.

Since u know that a lot of people in Nigeria use charms for evil deeds which is the same way a lot of spiritual leaders in Nigeria use Bible for evil deeds (brainwashing people as u also admit), why then would the possession of Bible be made legal and the possession of charms illegal?

Well, he probably confessed to possessing something harmful if he was actually confirmed to have something physical at the same time that looks strange but again if he has a good lawyer, that case is dead on arrival . This case is tantamount to trying to prove in a law court that someone used juju to kill a man ,but again in your Yoruba land any ideology with the help of your supposedly super educated men and women that are still clinging to some form of superstitious ideology ,anything can be bought and sold like gala.
A good lawyer will make that case look idiotic before any judge.

From the post, the prosecutor said that the accused was in possession of "criminal charms and OTHER dangerous weapons". Assuming they searched his bag and saw chaplet, Bible or Quran, would they still be charging him for possession of criminal Bible or criminal chaplet or criminal Quran and other dangerous weapons? Why won't a pastor who rapes a girl in his room be charged for both rape and possession of criminal Bible in his room?

It is a s.tupid law. Punishing it means you recognise it. Which means a person can use witchcraft and wizardry as a defense in a court of Law. Why is Nigeria like this for God's sake?

So what if the charm is for curing his sickness. I don't know the position of law on charms.

It's delicate. Law should stair clear of it.

We have traditional religion recognized by the law, government and the people.

Charms are like Bible and quran to traditional religion.

Tho, he tried to rob a house. He should be charge with that crime.

But Illegal possession of charms. What is illegal in charms? Do Christians need legal approval to carry Bible?

In lagos state law there is criminal possession of Charm and is a crime, the problem here is that there is no way you can prove that the charm is for criminal intention, the law was pass to stop traditionalist from making and circulating criminal and evil charms to the populace

quote author=Jobabori post=48545985]The police that arrested him, the DPO of the station, the Prosecutor and even the judge are more likely to have more charms than the suspects. Most Nigerians believe in potency of juju as not all charms are used for negative purposes. The spate of kidnapping rampant nowadays may be responsible for the police action of arresting him. Criminals do use bad charms in their nefarious activities. Though possession of charms is not a crime yet we should not allowed those suspected of possessing negatively one to roam our streets.[/quote]
