New Design For Nairaland Home Page by Seun(m): 4:40pm On Sep 28, 2009
Hello,

What do you think about this new look someone created for the home page?

( click here to see the new home page )

Is it better than the current one, or worse?  What can we do to improve it?

Thanks a million.
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by mukina2: 4:44pm On Sep 28, 2009
its nice but I prefer the old homepage.
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by Nestoville(m): 4:46pm On Sep 28, 2009
Obviously better and can still be improved.
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by JeSoul(f): 4:47pm On Sep 28, 2009
The 'new' one is not as clean or neat or visually appealing as the current one. I definitely prefer the current one. If it ain't broke . . .
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by Busybody2(f): 4:49pm On Sep 28, 2009
Would be back, lemme go compare it to the old one first, where can I find the old one again, anyone tongue
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by newdeal(m): 4:50pm On Sep 28, 2009
The colour combination is too distracting, I prefer the old homepage, or preferably something simpler.
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by Nobody: 4:51pm On Sep 28, 2009
It's cool,

But the colour of this old home page should be maintained on the current one.

Private Mail facilities should also be allowed. It will attract more traffic

OR you can still maintain this old home page, love-vendor the forum with some features and upgrade it!

That is what I call Boko Haram theme?

Nay, we don't want it

Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by oyinda3(f): 5:07pm On Sep 28, 2009
If you are more concerned about the color, you can go for a pastel green or a green that is in the same softness as the current blue one.
that new one you showed us is too sharp/loud and it will take longer for the eyes to get accustomed to it.

the old one, to me, is better. if this can be improved upon anyway it can be a kind of a change, variety is the spice of life.

Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by Busybody2(f): 5:14pm On Sep 28, 2009
Don't have a problem with it, it looks less cluttered but I guess the reason people will not take to it, is because we all have this inbuilt mechanism to HATE CHANGE cool
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by aieromon(m): 5:17pm On Sep 28, 2009

@seun .y cant u create a virtual enviroment/test environment for us to access and compare? U cant get a concise response as to whether its better than the current one or not.may be u should Create another url that can be accessible over d internet and will redirect everyone to the new page so that we can dump our comments there and after d comments,it will automatically close.
My 5cents sha .some1 else might have a better idea
Re: New Design For Nairaland Home Page by nana(f): 5:22pm On Sep 28, 2009

Urgh, one of the things I dislike about it, very predictable, the current one is simple and clean, no changes necessary please.

No mind our fellow wishy-washy pipu, see them all clamouring for Seun to reinstate the PM facility that was changed years ago so they can continue practising their wack toasting skills, if he succumbs to their wishes and then changes the colour to Turquiose blue or lime green or vivid pink now, they would not complain oh grin
