Futurewiser:

see what saskatchewan said on their site but u said i dont need to secure a supervisor that they will look for me

Research supervisors

We recommend that you contact the faculty that are doing research in an area that interests you before beginning a formal application.

Find a supervisor

Using the list above, find a potential supervisor, read about the work they are currently doing and their past publications. If you think you'd like to work with them, contact them and describe your research interests and past academic experience. If they are accepting students, they will instruct you to begin a formal application.

You were the one that misunderstood the post.
I clearly stated that "manitoba" doesn't necessarily require to you have a supervision b4 u are admitted, i never said same for Saskatchewan.

By the way, why are you "shying away" from contacting those guys? U fit cajole dem na, just write tantalizing stuffs, write all your life-achievements, in fact including ur "thinking-achievement" related to his research area. For example in my case i would whine the prof that "based on his so and so publication in x and y journal, i strongly believe that this and that is possible within the next few years" all it takes is small research into his works.
No doubt if u whine them well dem go gree.
Downside is that, he might expect more from you in return

As for me, i'll bother myself with finding a supervisor to accept me in research-based masters so i can "enjoy" full funding. No one funds course-based (exceptional cases exist though)

Hello Costa9,

Congrats to you! Please confirm if you've done Msc before is this an accelerated program. Also, is there any reason you left such ample time (Winter 2017)?

Yes, did my MSc in UK 2014-2015 on scholarship. Winter 2017 was at the request of the VO. They sent an email that I defer my course to get approval.

I believe its different strokes for different folks, I mean it depends on your faculty of choice in Manitoba and Saskatchewan(both to whom I applied) for masters in Law, I sent mails and I was replied categorically that the department would give a supervisor if I am admitted into the course, so I think you need to go through your departmental program requirements and if unclear, send mails to the postgraduate school. They'd clear any doubts you may have

My two days unrest on payment of tuition fee to Conestoga, seriously I couldn't concentrate in office after I have paid tuition fee last expecting them to upload the receipt on my student portal, but it wasn't.I have to start send mails upon reminder, while calling all phone numbers with different extension,it was hell and in fact if not for someone closer to me that paid on my behalf I would have suspected foul play....for complete two days I felt like someone expecting TRV,they eventually did respond and they ask me to give them time to investigate when the stipulated time to pay for tuition fee only remain some hours,I kept calling, sending mails, reminding them about my case and to be sincere I felt like pulling out if eventually they discovered that I have paid.....but my uncle keep telling me to hold on.,in fact on checking my student portal they removed my admission letter.

Exactly 9pm Nigeria time,I received two mails from them asking me to visit my portal that they have uploaded my confirmation of payment and admission letter without apology for inconveniency, whereas my uncle is there in Canada to battle with them and he concluded that Canadian citizens are lazy and I concurred and this is showing in Cic as well in reviewing application.......Not their fault if naija country better, rosy for us things won't be like this and this forex of a thing is really affecting applications submitted, the more naira fall the more harder it becomes...My prayer is for God to give us good leaders and make we hustling for survival to achieve our aim.

please once you start applying to all these schools try to be on their neck, besides have plan B .

I was delayed. I received an email last weekend. To God be all the glory!!!( Purpose of study and Current employment situation)

Please friends, I have learnt a lot from you helping others. I hope I can get some support from the house. I have decided to change my study program to an MBA and re-apply for the Winter Semester. My question is how do I re-present and re-process my application with my current situation as I really do intend to study. I have 8 years work experience as a brand specialist and now convinced that the PGD was not the better choice of study. I have identified schools that can accept 2.2 and I am ready to do this!! Kindly help me with the convincing info/guide to prove my intention to the VO.

I would appreciate objective thoughts so that others in this similar situation can find a way around theirs...... My very distinguished elders (you know yourselves grin .) I look forward to putting to very good use your advise. Congrats Arcayo! smiley

please which school did u find please

Hello house,

Myself and family already have our TRV. I would however like to know if we can convert it to study visa when we get to Canada. I did a bit of research and I'm not clear on whether it is possible, easy or a wild goose chase. I found below on CIC

QUOTE
How to get a study permit
If you belong to one of the following groups, you need to apply to extend your stay in Canada as a student:

holders of temporary resident permits (TRP) valid for a minimum of six months and their family members
END OF QUOTE

Will appreciate some guidance please.

Begin by searching online for schools in Canada that have the course you want to study. Find out the requirements, application timelines, deadlines, etc.

You need to start by searching for universities that have your course of study in Canada. You may need to decide if you will be going for research based or course based program. Make google your friend.

I'm a Ghanaian and applied in Ghana.
Aside the usual CIC forms, I also submitted:
Letter from sponsor- Aunt
SOA- a little over CAD 30000, her 3months payslips, company registration & tax registration documents. To justify source of income
Affidavit from my brother since I couldn't get his birth cert.
Marriage certificate, letter of intro from my employer, 3 months payslips, my car documentation and valuation. All my school transcripts and Certs from Junior high School.
License to practice my profession and documents showing registration as a professional. And SOP.

The little that I know, it's very important to show the source of income for your sponsor especially if the program is over a year. Letter of acceptance and good career progression could demonstrate your intent and strong SOP and current employment as well as family support could justify ties to your home country.

Good luck
