Hard disks have protective mechanism, your files are safe, you can recover your files by removing the hard disk from your laptop and accessing it with another laptop

How much would it cost to fix it ..plus battery not charging
that is a dell latitude series. New screen replacement will cost around 15k, but if it's a used or second hand screen, should cost for about 9k or 10k

it can not be repaired, they will have to get a replacement board for that laptop model and change it.

intel is the best processor. Intel has processor, but Amd has graphics. It's very nice specs system, but being an Hp brand, it would be expensive

To perform the reset, Remove the charger and battery from the laptop and press the power button for 60seconds, after that insert the battery back and power on the laptop.

Please help my HP 15 laptop keyboard and mouse just stopped working...when you put it on after coming on nothing would press again
Another thing to do is, get an external mouse and connect it to the laptop,(it should work) and go to control panel settings, under hardware and sound, go to device manager. You will see list of all devices, Under the keyboard, click on it and uninstall the driver. Under the mouse, also uninstall the driver. After that restart your laptop, the drivers will automatically be installed back and your laptop keyboard and mouse will start working

Download this software; glary utilities. There's a utility inside the software called Disk space analyser. Use it to analyze your system disk. You'll find the garbage that are clogging your storage.

This kind of problem might require restoring the operating system. Do a back up of your files and restore windows to factory defaults. Everything should work fine. This kind of issue are sometimes difficult to fix with every method you can think of until you restore windows.

Hello guys,
This is not really a computer problem but here goes,
I bought a London used HP Probook 6450b from a guy they call "Alfa" for 65000 naira at computer village. Sometime later, my friend wanted to buy a laptop, I suggested he bought the same type I use. He bought his for 60000 naira, when I was setting it up for him, I put on my laptop and his at the roughly same time, his laptop booted faster than mine, nothing appeared wrong at this time. Fast forward a week, my friend bought a GTA 5 CD from computer village, after he installed the game, he gave me the CD to install the game on my laptop, but I didn't have time to play it at that moment. When I got home, I decided to play the game, and to my surprise, the ran very slowly, around 10-15 fps, the next day, my friend called me to ask whether I was enjoying the game, I told him what happened and he was confused, he said the game was getting a minimum of 60 fps on his laptop, I then asked him how much RAM he had, he quickly checked and told me 8GB, since I didn't know how much I had, I checked mine, and to my surprise, I only had 3GB of RAM! I then checked the official specs of the laptop when it first came out, it came with 8GB of RAM! My question is, should I go and challenge "Alfa" to get the RAM changed or should I let it slide?

can I get a replacement cable for the touchpad?

can this be repaired or I should zero mind off it?

Good evening Tech gurus.

My HP Elitebook can't boot and this started today. Before then, it makes a sound and then hangs until the sound stops.

I suspect it is the Hard Drive and since I bought it fairly used, the Windows haven't been activated and I have tried all to do so but to no avail.

It came with a HD of 750GB as is written on the drive because I opened the laptop and saw it.

Please, is it really the HD the problem and how much is the replacement cost of a 750GB HDD.

Thank you.

do you mean it can't power on or it can't boot into windows? How do you suspect it's the hard drive, does the hard drive indicator lights gives any warning signs ? Hard drive don't just develop faults anyhow. It might be just electrical glitches. You should hard reset your laptop to drain any residual power charges left and restart it

you bought the laptop partially for gaming, you already know it's not a gaming system, so don't expect much from it. It doesn't meet the minimum requirement or have enough graphics memory required by those games. Although there re some tweaks on the net to increase the vram and bypass that restrictions. But not all system it can work with

It doesn't boot. It comes on and hangs on HP and doesn't continue to boot to windows.

There are sounds coming from the hard drive like something is clicking and it continues.

OK, I understand, it powers on and displays the Hp logo and stops there, it does not boot into windows login page. The hard drive is unable to load the Os. You should Perform a hard reset first. Remove the battery and press the power on button for one minutes, after that insert the battery back.

I have done that, still no result.

I'm particular about the "pim, pim" and cracking sound that is made while it is powered on and the lights on the Capslock button and scroll button blink together once the sounds start and then stops before it then hangs finally.
