Has Social Media Turned Nigerian Youths Into Narcissists? by Nobody: 10:27am On Aug 30, 2016 |
back then very few of us had guts to carry dreads, wear earings or behave immorally. but since the dawn of social media, its a different case in nigeria now. every boy thinks hes "king" and he's "chasing it" on facebook twitter and even nairaland! they post meaningless pictures and write long epistles about chasing the "shit". they all wanna look and sound like wizkid or davido. they post pics of smoking weed and holding laptops and drinking and acting like thats the end of the world. girls on the other hand have no shame anymore, they proudly post bedroom pics of theirselves having sex and even smoking weed. they post pics of them wearing pants and bra's and say nasting things and act like queen shabba! they call themselves "queens" and reply their "fans" that keep liking their ignorant posts rudely. please is this generation doomed? is their a future for this generation at all? everytime i open facebook or twitter i weep inside. no more pride in working or being responsible..the youths are so distracted by these celebritu lifestyle and almost all youth today are so engulfed with peer pressure. they all want to belong in a "gang" and post irrelevant things online. am i getting old or is this generation turning into the already "doomed" black american society? how can we get the youths back on track? 1 Like |

The cyber world has strong effect on the real world. The youths of today are very addicted to social media and everybody wants to look trending, hence ignoring things that really matter. With such attitude the future looks fearful as the upcoming generations are going to take the footsteps, even more and more
