Even if you lack common sense,at least try and borrow one before coming on Seun's forum to come and spew nonsense. Have you seen citizens of bigger countries trying to familiarise with citizens of smaller countries. It is usually the other way round, but anything for you to score cheap Internet points.
waa see another nonsense

Yes I've seen people from bigger countries scheme to to citizens of countries that have it far better than their country. I see it everywhere I go China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, India, Morocco and on and on

It is not my fault that every Nigerian I come across is scheming one way or the other to get Ghanaian documents

The greatest two tragedies in Kenya since independence are the Kikuyu entitlement and Kalenjin incompetence. Combined, they were bound to bring down the country. They might in fact have done so earlier if Uhuru Kenyatta hadn't discovered this in 2018 and nipped it in the bud.

Do not be afraid of accusing the Kikuyu community of entrenching an oath-fuelled tribal hatred that thrives on bestowing onto the nation the worst kleptocratic megalomaniacs, even when there was an excellent choice on the ballot, because the latter came from a tribe unacceptable to them.

Neither should you be afraid of pointing out that the Kalenjin community has perfected the art of making incompetence in public service a way of life, where corruption is locust-level (eat the leaves, the stem and the branches, to the ground). But in our current crisis, the Kalenjin at least voted for their son, however incompetent (where would they have found a competent one anyway?).

Today, every Kenyan crying about living conditions points to another one and says "si ni nyinyi mlipigia hii serikali kura?" The ones who did are too ashamed to carry their skunk. Luos, Luhyas, Kisiis, Kambas and Giriamas at least don't need to explain themselves because their colours were and remain clear. August 2022 was the Al Nakba, brought on us by Kikuyu entitlement and Kalenjin incompetence.

The bigger tragedy is that one of the two will act victim in 2027, look for Luo, Kamba and Luhya numbers, create a winning alliance and perpetuate this fraud!

Still crying over elections while Ruto is getting worldwide attention for his reforms?

Kenya is doing very well - it's put in reforms that only Tinubu has attempted to follow but seem to be losing fights.

These reforms are going to pay off.

Quick ones last year - are paying off. Kenya harvested 16M more bags. For first time we are 65M bags of Maize and we dont need Tanzania or Uganda maize.

Maybe another 900 acres to grab somewhere and distribute to the "historically" marginalized. I can't help but imagine what that conman's welfare(socialist) state would look like a year on. We'd be staring at the economic abyss right about now serving fodder for Steve Hankes cartoonist.

Nigeria still leading African economy

After Nigeria, South Africa is the next country in line, but they haven’t released their GDP numbers for Q3 2023 yet.

The South African economy generated ZAR4.6 trillion, according to GDP Q2 figures from the country’s statistics bureau.

South Africa’s GDP is around $243.4 billion when converted to US dollars using the official exchange rate of about ZAR18.98/$1. With these figures, Nigeria is the leading economy in Africa.

Just like Nigeria, South Africa’s currency has also declined but not as high as the naira. The value of South Africa’s currency declined by around 15%.

Further analysis demonstrates that for Nigeria’s GDP to fall below South Africa’s when measured in US dollars, the naira would need to decline to approximately N900/$1.

Although the naira’s black market rate is currently above N1000/$1, this analysis has just considered the official exchange rates, assuming they are not artificially fixed.

And while the official rates have often sold above N900/$1, the NAFEX rates have yet to touch the N900/$1 rate.

The base year for constant prices utilized by both nations is another important factor to think about. While South Africa has changed its base year to 2015, Nigeria is still using 2010 for constant prices.

Although the current figures still favour Nigeria, this can change the relative values of the GDPs of the two nations.

Also, South Africa reported a real GDP growth rate of 1.6% for the second quarter of 2023. This is lower than Nigeria’s real GDP growth rate of 2.51% in the same period and 2.54% in Q3 2023.

I didnt realize South Africa were also getting hit.
Kenya GDP is now less than 100B...should be back to 90B around.

As for Naira - God help you - even after such huge devaluation - the black market still exist.

Yeah black market still exists. The problems leading to such huge black market in Nigeria are not straightforward and this is what Tinubu and his team failed to realize before devaluing at once.

Lots of these issues have to do with the huge crypto market in Nigeria and P2P. Hundreds of billions of dollars have gone through the Nigerian crypto market which is beyond the control of the CBN so I don't believe devaluation was the silver bullet. I said this here as well last year.
