Abuja is so beautiful. So many things has changed since the last time i was here. You will be very stupid to compare Abuja to any other cities in west africa, not even Abidjan that i frequently visit.
Abuja inner streets and estate interiors give European street vibes.

Don't worry bro, the original hebrew texts in the bible uses the word chuwg which means sphere in English thus the bible does not teach flat earth. wink

However Musk being the anti christ.....well ill not be surprised if he turned out to be grin man will one day control the worlds social media, internet , energy, transport, and even peoples brains.

P.s i might be exaggerating a bit grin

True. The biggest problems to the world has never been the slowboi politicians but the fastbois like Kissinger, Gates, Soros and Musk. These are the architects of the world order and from the looks of it Musk will outdo all the others before him. Only God knows what will happen when we reach AI singularity which seems closer and closer every day.

Just hope and pray grin

Buying one of the biggest bank in Kenya

Access Bank even with the death of their former CEO and Cofounder are not slowing down with their expansion agenda in Africa and indeed the World.

Someone said this is due to your recent issuance of the eurobond.

Is the ksh overvalued?
You depend on importation just as much as Nigeria or Ghana, and the value of your exports isn't much really, so what's behind the ksh appreciation?

If Nigeria issues a 2 Billion dollars Eurobond today, Naira would be 900 in no distant time as well. This is what we did in 2017 and 2018. Naira that was going over 500 went back to around 365 and stayed there until COVID.
Eurobond alone can’t stabilise FX rate but it is normally a huge propeller.

Nigeria is going to issue an Eurobond in the second quarter.

Don't confuse yourself, the reason is simply better economic management and policies. Kenya is not Ghana or Nigeria.

There's no better economic management. What they've done is not different from what Nigeria did. Ruto cut down on subsidies also just like Tinubu. Anyway, let me help you call rvp2018 aka mkenya. He's the authority on Kenya's economy here. And Obiano too, don't know if I got that right.

just a combination of factors there's a 2 billion dollar Eurobond debt payment which eased a lot of investors, investor confidence is up thus higher FDI inflows,
increased tourism inflows, political stability and reduced insecurity has also cooled down currency speculation, good harvest, rains and a fertilizer subsidy program in the previous season has reduced the food import bill. another factor Kenya's exports were up in the last quarter of 2023 as the weakening of the Kenyan shilling last year made the country’s products competitive in international markets, higher diaspora remittances...

the kenyan government also has also got into arrangement with key trade partners to do trade in local currencies without using the US dollar
including government to government deals to purchase oil products without putting pressure on USD reserves.

a number of global organizations and regional embassies have set up their headquarters in Nairobi including some UN agencies hence the thousands of foreign employees working in Kenya bring in a lot of foreign exchange

Ethiopias recent civil war has shifted the investor attention in east africa back to kenya

if all factors remain constant its to be a great year for the kenyan economy.

I knew it was not just the Eurobond. Thanks. But Nigeria is coming up too. There's been a sharp appreciation in the value of the naira.

No be me talk am o. grin

The professor analyzed that the intrinsic value of the Cedi
remains around GH₵10,000 to GH₵11,00 per USD.
He explained, “1USD = 11 Cedi today. Sure, that old magic
achieved something, if not 1 USD will be about 100,000 Cedi
today. So, the magic saved people time from writing long
digits.
“More so, it has reduced greenhouse emissions since
cheque books, bank forms, etc may not need to be longer.
How do you write $10,000,000 if 1 USD would have been
100,000 Cedi? On that, you commend the genius in Ghana.”
Recall that at the peak of Zimbabwe’s inflation in 2015,
Zimbabwean bills were exchanged for U.S. dollars at the rate
of 175 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars for every $1.

If you read my post again you would see I made clear Eurobond is not sufficient to stabilise a country’s FX but it’s a propeller.
It actually restores confidence that prevents citizens from buying dollars since they know FX just came in.

Of course. I think the removal of fuel subsidy has actually helped the naira. There's less pressure on the naira now.
