stop quoting undated crap. Nakuru-Nairobi highway is smooth and has NOT a single pothole. It was the 1st chinese roads in Kenya in 2004. That is even worse than letting American build them. Nigeria cowboy contractors will never ever get a contract in Kenya - NEVER EVER. They took 5yrs to do 4kms of road. Kenya we have those cowboy contractors - and they do very bad job.

What is more important - to have world class Chinese contractor get 10 percent profit on the road - and delivered on time, quality and cost - most of time they deliver way before time - or to have Nigerian like nightmare.

While you're still grappling with potholes - potholes are history in kenya highways. Maybe in a few inner roads or estate will you find potholes.

The road has served us well for nearly 20yrs without potholes. The road is dualized - 60kms from Nairobi - and near Nakuru town - and in hilly sections there is a climbing lane.

And now French are building us a 2 billion dollars (almost) expressway - toll road.

The 233-kilometre contract that was awarded to a French consortium made up of Vinci Highways SAS, Meridian Infrastructure Africa Fund, and Vinci Concessions SAS last year will see the road expanded into a four-lane dual carriageway through a Public-Private Partnership model.

There will be 4km elevated expressway in Nakuru town.
