MrPristine:their mortality is majorly caused by ,heat, poison or lack of water......,market is the main bane of nigerians venturing into agric.i hope govt. could setup a sound marketing system or structure that buys surplus from farmers, gather and store our agric. produce.many processing companies will be willing to comein and invest in Nigeria.many can even go and take loan so far you are tooth sure that you'll get back your money once you produce and sell to a sound marketer 1 Like 1 Share |

Gbemiie: I started with only one thousand naira which I used to buy a laundry basket for keeping them. I then started picking the snails in the bushes surrounding my house. On my own I was able to catch almost two hundred but it involved a lot of hard work and passion. I had to be catching them late at night or very early in the morning before sunrise as most snails disappear into their hideouts once it's daylight. I later stated paying security guards in my area to catch for me, by so doing I have been able to accumulate over seven hundred snails on my back yard. My target is to have over a thousand before the raining season is over. 6 Likes |

Naughtysite:True at bush but where the bush dey na for PH ? Most of the giant snails in the market have been exposed to sun which dries their moisture and sometimes, reduce their fertility rate. claremont:That's what my course rep is doing. He dries them, and sends to the United States. He is making good money but with this dollar to naira rate, he got affected. 1 Like |

I remember those times when I used to rear snails as a small boy in my backyard. they grew big amd layed eggs here and there.... But one night... A jealous neighbour went to uncover their cage and let them all out. My aunt just got into this and she needs all the help she can get for her snail farm. I plan to start this too later... Too many of this snails creep everywhere around my compound and fence 1 Like |

transfer101:so, according to you... Only people who studied agric or anything related to it have the right to farm. But I'm very sure your great grandfather didn't study agric before he started farming neither did our fore-fathers. No one needs a paper called a certificate to be allowed to till the land given to us by God. If It's Gods plan for you to farm, do you Shift Gods plan aside cos you obtained a paper after wasting four yrs in the uni. . . People just like to come online and claim to be smartypants here and there. Op wasn't even needing a commendation from you. Please and please, stop trying to show inteligence everytime, it sometimes leads to foolishness... Like in your case now. 3 Likes |

Kgdavid: Apologises for taking this long to reply your post and numerous others. Network has been very unfriendly since as it has been a raining day. 1. It depends on the scale you chose to do. Outside the pen, as low as 20k would startup on a small scale. 2. It also depends, Since they consume over 80% of what humans eat, vegetable, etc. Some of which can be freely sourced/cultivating their feed (vegetables). Calcium Supplement is mainly what could cost some money. About #350 a sachet. 3. If proper marketing strategy is in place. 80-150% can be achieved. Gbemiie:Well, what I did was simply spread salt around the cage then. Dunno if it worked or not but Ive never seen an ant walk over salt... But salt can be very dangerous to snails if it gets to them. I won't reccomend anyone using salt to bar ants from reaching their snails. But bruh... Worst case scenarios... Just pour sticky stuffs around where you keep the snails, no ant can pass that 1 Like 1 Share |

cococandy: My dear Good morning Yes I love these stories People who work hard to achieve what they want Unlike the other lazy ones who sit an blame everything and everybody but themselves There are so many opportunities in Nigeria, but our youth are busy trolling & being rude on the internet, and are addicted to Instagram and more interested in Basketmouths new rolex than their own futures and opportunities are just rolling by. I feel very sorry for them cos I hope by the time they wake up its not too late A young male graduate catered for a house party a few months ago for us. We were the ones even showing him how to do the barbecue but I loved his spirit and I know that his next event will be better. He didn't just sit there waiting for a job, but learnt to cook and is making small money. Tomorrow he will be big while his mates are still disturbing uncles here and there and carrying out small small scams on nairaland. 2 Likes |
