For the first time in a long while (a really long while), Sen. Dino Melaye is in the news for work related issues.
Permission has been given him, lets see the outcome.

Someone is seeking MTN's patronage. We can read between the lines, Uncle Dino

This should not be news to most Nigerians. MTN is a foreign company and they are here to make maximum profit and repatriate same to their home country. It is not money laundering but capital flight. If we want Nigerian money to stay in Nigeria, we should patronise local alternatives more that the foreign ones. We should also strengthen our laws to force big multinationals like MTN to be listed on the stock exchange.

Also, regulators of the telecommunication and banking sectors are well of aware of this practise. They collect bribe from MTN and look the other way. Patriotism and protection of national interest is zero in this country.

The first question would be, 'are they paying their tax'?
The Second question would be, 'do they contravene any section of the Money Laundry Act'?

When you call foreign investors to come with their monies, don't forget they will want to go with a profit.

Senseless accusation. It is like saying Nigerians in diaspora should not send money home.

Not MTNs fault at all ..in the wake of the ridiculous Buhari led fine any good business owner will find ways to expatriate it's gross profit and liquid assets to somewhere safe ..Infact in th same period over 80 billion dollars was sneaked out by many multinationals in the wake of that ridiculous fine by the a govt looking for lifeline ..Buhari could have gone about it in a smarter way..imagine a fine of 5 billion dollars ,it's never been heard of in human history

Read the original post again and stop commenting ignorantly simply because you want to abuse Buhari. Melaye clearly alleged that MTN had moved over $12billion out of the country between 2006 and 2016. The alleged capital flight has nothing to do with the fine imposed on MTN. Nigeria is not a lawless country, if you break the law, you should face the consequence. It's that simple.

To the part in bold, go and google the fine imposed by USA on BP for the oil spill in the golf of Mexico in 2010. Come back after and correct your post.

Between 2006 and 201X.
Please read properly and use your brain . They were probably moving their profits out gradually . They could also have been moving operational expenditure between the countries they operate. Nigeria needs to get very sophisticated about the management of protocols that these organisations use to move money.
It is not only Nigeria. In Europe, most US companies - Apple, Microsoft, GE frequently run into problems.

And Emefiele can't reduce Interest on Loans to common man even when The Minister of Finance genuinely professionally advised him to do so. He doesn't want to know that high interest is disincentive to investment in a Recession

Sometimes you make some reasonable comments, at other times like this you make such silly ones that make you appear unintelligent, the article stated 2006 till date, yet you blamed Buhari immediately, your critism has to be constructive, you just can't keep on blaming Buhari for everything, especially sometimes when he is trying to do good, do you honestly want us to keep treating this foreign companies as gods ? MTN kept millions of lines active after the registration deadline, and it enabled terrorist, kidnappers, armed robbers and all sort of illegal activities to go on without being traceable, the country regulatory body then imposes a fine on them, and you blame the country leader, can MTN try this in an european market without dire consequense for the brand , do you know what volkswagen is facing in Europe right now ? Please try to be objective in your reasoning, because whether it is Nigeria, Biafra, Oduduwa republic or any other country, MTN has no right to trample on that country's law .

MTN is not the only company that is guilty of this practise, so many foreign companies do the same. Ben Bruce once told us to buy naija to grow naija, that is the only way to avoid things like this.
