Obasanjo- The Man Who Saw Tomorrow. by mekaboy(m): 11:43am On Sep 25, 2016
Some say Obasanjo was the problem PDP had, Some said the party collapsed after he left.

The main reason Jonathan lost the election and why Obasanjo allowed the party to sink was this.

Yaradua died and based on the parties agreement of zonning it was the turn of the north to do 8 years in office. Unfortunately Yaradua could not complete his 8 years and the constitution made provision for the VP to take over. There is nothing the north could do about it.

So I believe the agreement was for Gej to do 1 tenure and hand over to the north to complete the north's 4 years.

Jonathan decided to violate that agreement and do eight years, either because he wanted to see the result of the seeds he planted in the economy or for personal interest.

Obasanjo would not stay and watch Gej violate this agreement which could cause bloodshed, even though he would not deny the fact that he was OK with Gejs leadership of the country. But he had to put party interest of zonning above national interest , or put national interest above selfish interest as it would have led to a bloody war.

Even Gej knew that the battle line was drawn and had to call and congratulate Buhari even before the results were concluded. This is because both the North and the south were ready for the clash, but the blood would be on his head for violating the agreement. So since he violated and lost, no need to shed blood. I respect Gej for that decision.

However, there was one thing both Gej and Obasanjo were worried about. What would happen to our economy if Buhari took over. That is why he said Nigerians will celebrate him when he left office.

So what was the pilar that gave both Gej and Obasanjo confidence in Gejs administration?

Ngozi Okonjo iweala. She was the reason and the force behind most achievements in Obasanjo's regime and Gejs.

Obasanjo would not be a part of a PDP that violates it's agreement with the north, but on the other hand he was worried about what will become of Nigerian economy in the hands of Buhari.

Obasanjo was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. If he supported Gej and he won, a lot of blood will be shed , but if he supported Buhari, the economy will collapse and there will be untold hardship. So he left PDP and would not join APC.

It was better for him that Nigerians suffer hunger and economic hardship than die from post election violence.

Obasanjo said that Buhari was not a good civilian administrator. That is why he wanted Okonjo iweala as Vice president, as his condition to support Buhari's presidency when he choose pastor bakare as vice.

Finally, Buhari is now president, and Obasanjo's other fear, which was our economy is happening before our eyes.

4 million jobs lost, inflation 17% , stagnation etc. He saw all this, but his hands were tied. In less than 2 years, we have to sell our assets to fund 2016 budget. what will we sell to fund 2017 and 2018?

Some blame the oil, but Obasanjo knew that it is not about oil, but Buhari's ability to manage our economy. He would only support Buhari's candidate if he was sure there will be an Okonjo Iweala as vice to prevent the economic disaster we face today.

Haven't you seen that all the records Buhari is breaking is above that of Obasanjo.

Nigeria recession worse in 29 years. Inflation highest in over 10 years. Who else could achieve such record in less than 2 years if not PMB?

nigeria already became destroyed before buhari came in as president.
He is just trying very hard to maneuvering things to salvage the country.

A country where nothing is working despite large sum of money the country got during 16 years of pdp.
But buhari must work harder to turn things around.

nigeria is a destroyed country, hence there is no money.
Refineries can be sold. They are already scraps.

Buhari is reluctant to borrow money. He is very careful as a very old man. But he needs to borrow tens of billions or even up to hundred billion dollars.
I am angry with his reluctance to borrow money.

Borrowing is not the problem but managing the borrowed fund. If you can't manage what was handed over to you, how will you manage what you borrow?

I am even afraid of PMB borrowing, because I doubt his capability to utilise the loan.

If we have 24/7 electricity, we dont need oil at all.

The tax generated from population of a country of 180 million will even more than triple money generated from oil sales.

But successive governments failed to fix electricity.
Shame on military generals that destroyed the country.

He has very good ministers.

If he was corrupt, Nigeria will not be in this condition today. Nigeria did better under corrupt leaders than it is doing under the saint today.

I doubt. branding is one thing any company that plans to succeed invests in. Branding is what APC used to sell buhari to Nigerians to attract votes.

However buhari is unable to market Nigeria as brand that will attract investors. Said we are broke, thieves and blaming everyone else but himself.

Investors packed their bags and left the country for the saint to rule. Where are we today? going back to beg the same investors he scared away to return.

They could not fix any infrastructure in 16 years despite spent billions of dollars on them.

Money was just wasted away.

Is the president earning more in recession or not? The trains commissioned as the only achievement of this administration was built by who?

Do you know buhari more than obasanjo that said he was not a good administrator?

What's the difference between Nigeria now and 1984

APC just need to stimulate the economy and pursue their budget plan, then things would be fine. This is a country of 180 million people. A lot of economic activities.

Be thanking God that the other party didnt win. Those that could not manage rain fall of money on the country, even they borrowed money to pay salary before they left.

Nigeria has lost more in 1 year of this administration than all the money looted under Gej.

When they stimulate the economy, will the over 4 million people who have lost their jobs be called back?

OBJ should have left in his cage by Abacha,he came to steal and destroy with his occultic members like Okija shrine patron Chris Uba and Ogboni leader Anenih.
He watched Chris Uba kidnap a sitting Governor, destroy Anambra state and called it a family affair.
He watched Anthony Anenih as he embezzled our funds and turned our roads to deathtraps that consumed alot of lives.
The National assembly contrary to what CBN Governor and Ngozi Iweala stated found out he spent $16 billion dollars on power to give us darkness.
He came to office poor but after his tenure he owned Bells Secondary School,Bells University,Mechanized Farming Equipment in Otta Farm and 200 million share in Transcorp
In decent climes he will be spending life in prison.
