i wore a bowtie to a unilag lecturership interview and i got appointed.but mind u,i was a don and my field was very rare and i knew they have no choice than to take me or their intellectual property law class will be grounded.
on a real note, unless for a consulting /executive position,u might intimidates someone on the panel and lost the job cus its believe bow tie guys are too sure, too arrogant and they dont usually send.

How is this slavery? You can as well wear a tshirt and Jean so as to show you not a slave right?
Oga....it is pure slavery. Must I even put on tie at all? I'm currently teaching and my proprietress made tie compulsory... How do you expect me to put on tie to teach for 6 to 7 periods?! Oga, I no wear any tie o...even if I'm to wear tie, I only use bow ties coz I'm very tall....to the extent that I've started making my bow ties by myself.

How does tie even show your capabilities... Wearing jeans and T-shirt is foolishness, everyone would agree to that, but making tie compulsory, or not accepting a bow tie is also crazy. We all just dress to please the employers cause we've been enslaved and have got no other choice!

Who made wearing jeans and tshirt foolishness? Some people don't like corporate at all so they should be recognised too.

If working for someone is slavery what's stopping from taking the risk to start something for yourself instead of whining? You can't take risks and you don't want to respect those that are taking the risks?

If the OP was sanusi lamido, this question would have been very valid. But as it stand, the OP is an applicant that requires a job ASAP. So he better goes along with the standard of formal dressing, not that of a formal CBN governor would didnt apply for the job he got.

Are you from the West?
Former please...

i am not from the west. you can correct me without tribalism. mistake has no ethnicity. My previous use of formal dressing may have caused it.
