In response to this thread below: https://www.nairaland.com/3409630/hate-glo-network....they-gave-me I noticed a lot of people bashing and cussing the OP for recharging with *223# instead of using *123#. Here is my Story: I have been using MTN since.. Frankly, I haven't used any other network except during my NYSC when I was forced to use Etisalat and Airtel for some months due to lack of MTN coverage in some internal areas of Delta State back then. About three weeks ago I decided to give our Naija network a trial. Bought and registered a GLO SIM. Bought rechrage cards there in their office and my first recharge was without incident. Everything went well. Fast forward two weeks ago and I want to recharge and subscribe again. Bought the required airtime and because I haven't been using GLO before, I checked the paper for the recharge code, saw *223# and dialed. Surprise!Surprise!! I received a message that 500 was deducted and something about #500 call and #500MB data. I was like What the h**l!! But I wanted to subscribe for the monthly plan. Well, I visited the nearest customer care, was told it *223# is for something else and that I have to buy another recharge card if I want the monthly package. Okay. I bought another card and up till now I was unable to recharge. I was also unable to check my balance up till now Customer care said the platform is down. I have a recharge card I cant use The question is this: Why will GLO put two recharge codes on their cards? WHY? MTN is always *555*recharge code#. From there you can dial whatever code you want and whatever you like. Also, Airtel is always *126# and from there you can do whatever you want to do Etisalat is always *222* and from there..... you know the drill Why cant GLO emulate this? And Please, before you start ranting about uniqueness or some other marketing jargon, it is better to use any strategy that is working for your competitor instead of frustrating your customers. What I did? Simple. I removed the nonsense SIM and kept my card for future use. Skikena! Anybody that has that meme where it says "Good Morning, but GLO users will see probably this in the evening" MEME should help me attach. Oh, lest I forget, cc: lalasticala

Trying to do a welcome back but it didnt work, i was told that there is nothing i can do to regain back my number and it may be assigned to another subscriber in the nearest future. . . Make dem kuku give me my #250 wey i take buy the sim card about 6yrs ago, times the Years wey i don use am. My number na 07053816007. . But i will appreciate it more if GLO can reconsider me and give me back my number cos it is link to many of my life investments. |

On the recharge card they said: *223# for data and *123# for voice. Next time read properly, there are two recharge codes on the card, one for data one for voice. So Glo wins this one... |

VeryBigYam: Really? There has been two threads about this within 48 hours. Shouldn't that tell you something? Do you know the thousands of people who will have the same problem but will just keep quiet and lick their wounds? Let's say I agree with you, why can't I recharge and do the normal sub? Anyways, it doesn't really matter. I have already removed the SIM card and moved on. Just don't want people bashing the OP of the thread quoted above, that's all. Otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. It's just one of those things. PS: They will also lose lots of customers coz of this. I |
