My dear, nothing is happening there. Roads in ogun state are in serious mess.
I went to OPIC Estate last week and from Agbara bus stop to OPIC it was hell. There are 2 roads there. One is the so called private road that pass in front of Unilever and the other is the Federal road that runs from Badagry express road through Lusada to Idiroko road.

The two roads are not motorable at all. I was just pitying the people that live or work around that area especially OPIC Estate and along Lusada road.

Most of the major companies where Ogun state make money is along that Federal road. Just name any major manufacturing company in Nigeria, you will find it along that Lusada road but the road is one of worse roads in this country. It is actually a disaster.

What makes me sad is the fact that Obasanjo spent 8 years as the President of Nigeria and his home state has the highest number of (major) bad roads in this country.

OBJ is a wicked monkey who is selfish and only have the interest of himself in his mind. Look at the billions he sunk in his stupid hilltop project at Oke-osan/NNPC area. Most of the industries in Nigeria are located in Ogun state and what is expected is to fix these dilapidated roads to make it easy for companies haulage vehicles to move in raw materials and move out finished goods.

Amosun, the renowned bastard and useless man always claim the glory of ogun as the most industrialised state but nothing to home about to fix the infra structural degradation of roads linking these companies.

For the past two weeks, I spend nothing less than 2 hours between Sango (Rhema Church) and Joju bus stop.
It's disgusting. I stand with one term for all our political elected officers.

Bros, u try but i wont agree with u to some extent...
1st i will like to ask u one question, do u reside in Lagos or Ogun state? If NO then u dont have an idea of what is going on there, forget the pics u saw today when u see these roads physically then u will know we have no govt in this country.
Then u said they will only do their part and leave the rest for the next govt, bro if u start thinking like this then this country will never move an inch-forward. because it is their responsibility, If i may advice the Ogun state govt, i will tell him to expedite the process of making the roads worthy of plying on because most people who live in ogun ifo area works in Lagos state and they ply that road on a daily basis now, Lagos is getting brimming with people coming in on a daily basis, most people now prefer to rent their homes in Ogun state because its cheaper than that of Lag, but the people there are really complaining because of these bad roads, The road are terrible than what u think bro, fixing a federal road that links the commercial hub of a whole west Africa is inevitable but the govt of the day are busy playing politics with it and u re telling me they will only do their part wch we cant even feel the impact. this is d reason why we still lack power in 2016 just imagine because they only go there to do their own part and leave d rest for next govt. We re not saying state govt should build fed roads, all am saying is that they must strife to maintain the ones they have so that it wont affect the economy of their state,. it s a common sense bro.

Before we criticize, let's be really sure of our arguments void sentiments and be very factual.

Of all the problems facing the country when OBJ assumed office, it is just the Sango-Ota road that should be fixed?

If Dimeji Bankole used his influence to finish the project, it's only commendable and be enlightened that the then Gov. wanted to hijack the project as its own.

As per for the current Gov. I won't blame you for your grieve, it's just to tell you that an administration cannot finish every issues facing his jurisdiction. He will do his part and others will do theirs. That's what's called governance, it's what is called continuity.

He should abandon his own work and face the federal job? And after he does the federal job and unable to do his, we will be the one to criticize him again.

There are faults definitely, and am sure the government too can see them. We complain simply because it's affecting us directly, but they see more than we do. They do more of analysis than we do and before they make a move on a project, they understand it's importance than we do.

It's good we point out area of attention to them, but we should be more constructive in our criticism.

Thank you!

I was on that road last week Saturday. It took me almost 2 hour to drive from Toll Gate to Sona Brewery. I will never drive on that road any time i visit again until that bad portions are fixed.

Funny how you Nigerians name every road "an expressway"

A real expressway should be limited access freeway with designated exits, over passes and grade separation with no surface street type of traffic.

Like I said, let's be very factual with our criticism void of sentiments.

How will you expect a gov. dispensation of 4yrs to finish all the backlog of problems from decades before. We only complain about issues that we feel are affecting us directly and don't let us forget that the issues they are solving are also affecting some people directly too. Whether they are politically inclined as some people will think does not matter because as of the time the issues were solved, everyone in that community are not of the same political believe but they will all benefit from it.

Am not creating excuse for any government, am only saying that we should not rub off governments efforts simply because our own direct issues have not been addressed. As much as there were criticism about the past administrations, it also performed in its own way.

What we should always hope and be optimistic about is that there is continuation in governance, a feat the LASG is enjoying.

And about my resident, I am a full indigene of Ogun State. Live in Abeokuta, Schooled @ Odogbolu, Worked @ various parts like Ifo, Ewekoro, Stayed at Sango, martanal home town is Yewa and hv been to @most 18 of the 20 reg. LGs of the State.

Our dear state and country @large will be great, it only depends on our individual/collective mindset towards greatness.

Let's appreciate our leaders efforts, criticize constructively because we only know about what they do today we don't know about what we'll do tomorrow.

It takes a very good follower to be a great leader...try and trust ur leaders now as you'll also expect such from your followers in the nearest future.

Thank you.

You see how South East and South South people left you all to debate and discuss on ur bad roads thread.

Now let the reverse be the case and see the type of bile and mockery you guys will be posting on any thread, relating to bad roads in South South or South East region.

You all would have started with "your hero", "ineffectual buffoon", "Jona".

I will post this here for future reference.

upon all the money in Ogun state?

Over 60% of revenue that comes to Ogun State Government is generated between Agbara and Sango Ota but I can authoritatively tell you that these two City have bn cut off due to bad roads.
Sango to Agbara is 36km and 18km of that road (Atan-Agbara) is unpassable due to gullies and drenches caused by heavy duty trucks passing that road.
Also Owode Idiroko to Ilaro is about 24km and the road is not just there for the masses, if you are going to Ilaro from Owode you av to come true this same portion of the road in Sango and go true Papa (80km)...
Our Government are our major calamity not even in this draft of reccession ...
Amosun started a fly over project in Ilaro where you can't even see 4 vehicles together all in the name of making money to himself leaving the connecting road between Awori and the Yewa unattended to.

God should pls intervene and give sense to this our long cap Governor.

There's is no excuse for lack of maintenance. If some part of d road were adequately maintained, we will not be engaging in this conversation. Another problem with Nigerians is dt we celebrates mediocrity and dats why I'm persevering.[quote author=jinneyb post=50750623]

You have a very nice point and it's relatable, but my point still remains, a fault of federal government should not be taken on the state government. The road is key to economic improvement, yes...but why haven't the federal government in question not done it themselves, and if the state decides not to look at it, it has its reasons. At least it has done other roads.

Which other roads and what reasons bros...? I agree with u in some aspect, but not on this bone of contention.
If they (the state govt) had done their own part in this scenario, there wouldnt be any argument right now because most of this busses and other road users will sort their selves using other alternative road instead of causing gridlock on an absolutely dilapidated road. Right now as am speaking to you i went thru thesame road this morning and i knew how long it took me to scale thru especially that Joju area before the bridge. Right now, there's just one lane which all motorist must pass because the other lane is completely devastated to the extent that trailers are getting stuck right inside the ditches on a timely basis, now its gradually affecting the other roads close to that place and degrading the environment, also depriving the pple their way of making money because pple can hardly stop by to patronise them cos of the muddy and grubby road. SOON WE WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TOTALLY DISCARD LAG-ABK EXP WAY Except the govt both at the FED level and the state level realises that its their full responsibility to do those, else we will remain where we are today or God forbid retrogress.
