Bereaved husband refuses to cancel his wedding plans following his bride’s death an hour to their wedding. When 43-year-old Fana Maphumulo woke up on Saturday, November 5, he was probably looking forward to the day that would see him become officially married to the love of his life.

As fate would have it, Fana’s plans did not come to pass, as his lover of about 20 years ended up not walking down the aisle with him, nor will she ever get the chance to do that. Fana’s fiancee, 42-year-old Nana Mkhize, reportedly died an hour before she was to become Mrs Maphumulo. According to reports, Nana had confided in Fana about a dream she had in October, where she had died on her wedding day, but they managed to wave the dream aside and continue with their wedding plans.

Nana who hails from the G section of Umlazi in South Durban, South Africa, was reportedly admitted at a hospital where she eventually died, on the eve of her wedding, after she complained of weakness. According to reports, even after guests who didn’t know about the bride’s death had gathered at the wedding venue, a brave Fana chose to continue with the wedding, asking the pastor to pray while he placed both wedding rings on his finger. Nana and Fana have four children together and had reportedly been planning their wedding for many years, before Nana’s eventual death on the D-day.
