Now there is this man i rented a one bedroom apartment to, and being that i'm young maybe he thinks i don't know the value of money he chooses to pay it in instalment, imagine him paying 1yr rent of 80k in a period of 5mounts, now the problem is i was adviced to hand over the property to a lawyer, the man has been intimidating me as to why i had to do such a thing.

Part payment is a No for me save you agreed to that. Drop your email or digits. I am a Lawyer and my practice is based on Property... I have seen worse , trust me!

You are free to handover whatever belongs to you to anybody you believe can handle it well for you. He has no right to intimidate your right!

If not i see no reason why a teenager should want to handle house rents all by himself.

Hand it over to an aggresive lawyer, that way you distant yourself from the tenants and nobody can play on your emotions.

Becarefull of the lawyer u will hand it over to, when it comes to money, trust no one. The lawyer can even be worse than your tenant.

My advice, walk up to few land lands in your area, find out the best lawyer in ur environment b4 you commit your self.

I hope u have mother who is a bit older, I suggest u let her handle that matter while she reports back to you.

Get a lawyer ASAP. Don't be afraid to spend that extra money

Like I always say, we never hear of bad tenants, only bad landlords. Bad tenants can make you question your sanity trust me.

Make sure the house is in good shape, provide all the basic utilities (water, light, security etc), rebuild, upgrade the house when you get the chance. Mark up the rent of the house after some years if you choose. Be considerate in doing so.

But in all, get a solid, no-nonsense lawyer and save you some headache.

Just issue him qiit notice!

Get the services of a facility and property management company, then you'll worry less!

hey ,from experience ur mistake in d first place was not letting a lawyer handle the collection and matters concerning rent. why on earth will u be collecting rent yourself. haba. be wise

Well, serve the recalcitrant tenant a warning notice and if he continue behaving terribly, go to a competent court and obtain his quit notice. That's all !
