God has designed the woman's body to be less attractive to men shortly after birth. The baby needs and actually feels more secure in a nursing mom with some fat. Breast feeding also helps to bring down the weight.

Things should normalise with the guy after the first year.
After the first year, try to aggressively lose weight. He will find you more attractive.
