It did not contradict. Lust of the eyes is the first stage. It is a Lust. Lust of the heart is the second stage and it is a lust.

FIVE STAGES OF LUSTS
I was made to understand that the fall of Adam by Satan through Eve was due to Eve’s undergoing the complete stages of Lust after the forbidden fruit. Let us look at our working scripture.

From the underlined in our working scripture, we can see the processes or stages that Eve went through:

1. She made eye contact with the forbidden fruit and could not take her eyes away from it. {pleasant to the eye).
2. Her heart desired to have a taste of the fruit (a tree to be desired).
3. In between, before she took the fruit, she must have planned how to pluck the fruit.
4. She carried out her heart desire by eating the fruit. She took action (and did eat)
5. Consequently, she became lost to death (God’s judgement).

These five stages that Lot went through led sequentially one to another. Each stage is lust on its own and is sinful. Let us look at these five stages in practical ways at they affect youths.

I had overexposed myself to pornographic images and also loved to looked around at unclad women on the steer, when I was an unbeliever. After, I came born again. I had this struggle- all the pornographic movies I had watched were playing to me from my heart on their own and I was still being carried away with looking at sensitive parts of women on the street. Then I began to take deliberate steps to be able to overcome all these things.

At this stage, a Youth begins to make a plan how to actualize what he/she has been longing to touch, taste or test in his/her heart.

Many youth call it ‘love’ but I call it ‘Love Under Secret Terms’ (lust). At this stage, a male and a female youth that are lusting after each other may begin to behave funny and secretively. They may begin to do things in secret- secret phone calls, secret text messages, secret chats, secret visits when parents are not at home, secret invitations and so on. Even toasting belongs here. It is during this secret stage that many youths roll out plans that take them to the real action (fornication).

Lies are also not too far from Youths engaging in lust at this stage because they need a lot of lies to succeed in, and to cover their secret loves and plans.

Proverb 7:19 tells of a woman, whose husband had travelled, and was planning a ‘secret love’ with a young man she had been lusting after.

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

This planning secret love is also sinful because, if you are not checked, it is what you plan that you will carry out as mentioned in Micah 2:1.
Micah 2:1 Woe to them that devise (plan) iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

Micah 2:1 explains the reason many young girls were raped after honouring secret invitations from their ‘so-called-boyfriends’. Their boyfriends planned the rape and carried it out when they see their girlfriends.

THE FOURTH STAGE OF LUST (THE ACTION STAGE)
Lust at this stage is given by the acronym below
L -LURED
U -UNKNOWINGLY into
S -SEXUAL
T -TRAP

This is the action stage. Youths, at this stage, are eventually lured into sexual trap, fornication. Fornication is a sexual trap because 1- most youths are lured into it the way a rat is lured into a trap 2- once, a youth enter into sexual trap of fornication, he/she cannot go out on his/her own, the way a rat that is caught by a trap cannot come out of its own.

Many girls have been lured into this sexual trap with money, recharge card, handset, admission promise, new clothe, a trip to fast food joint and so on, the way a rat is lured into the trap with a piece of fried meat set into the trap.

Jeremiah 5:26
26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

A youth that is inside the trap of fornication needs Jesus Christ to set him/her free. Run to His feet to deliver you. Unfortunately, most youths that enter the trap of fornication don’t open up.

Excuses and unrepentance are features of youth that are in sexual trap of fornication. Rather than confess and repent from fornication, some will say it was a mistake when they become pregnant (excuse). Some will say they were lured or seduced into it (excuse). This was a similar way Adam and Eve failed to repent but rather gave excuse for eating the forbidden fruit and fell into sin trap. Adam pushed the blame on Eve (excuse) and Eve pushed the blame on the serpent (excuse). Genesis 3:12-13.

Since it is almost impossible for a fornicating youth to come out of the sexual trap on his/her own, that is why scripture charges us not to go near it the way Eve was instructed not to touch the forbidden fruit.
