A part of me feels like they didn't meet stiff resistance when they overtook the camp, more like a walk in the park kind of thing, anyways, it is what it is. Hope we never experience insurgency of any kind in the country again.

It is military tradition everywhere to capture the ensign of the enemy. Every army defends it's ensign with its life. The captured ensign is presented to the C-in-C and afterwards it is kept in the army museum. Details of the campaign are entered in the war diary of the regiments with any honours and promotions consequent.

I guess they are giving back the flag to their designated chairman and appointed negotiator so he can officially close the charter on boko haram for good. Otherwise why would a whole major general carry a dirty ramshackled flag to give to a whole Nigerian president, is there no more work to do. These guys are just a joke in our national history.
