Coming from Ojukwus (cowards) and Osus (conquered slaves) that are always running away from their despicable land, makes it very hilarious.

The responsibilities of government is not to provide security, welfare and justice but to;
i) empower the people to provide security, welfare and justice for themselves and their fellow countrymen. Most stupid thing I've seen yet in 2017.

Nations like the USA, Germany, France, are technologically advanced. Yes, it is true! But they are nations. Why are African countries so backwards? Are we not intelligent? Do we not have personnel? We have everything but only things we do not have. That is the basic. We have no nationhood.
Re: Peter Obi : Why Yoruba States And People Are Poor And Igbo States Might Fail by Veritasafrique: 12:07am On Jan 04, 2017
We just come together to destroy one another. Do we not see what is happening in Congo? Are we not aware of the situation in South Sudan? What are we to say about Nigeria? Until African amalgams become nations, we shall keep on beeing backwards! That is what the neo-colonialists want. We keep on having ethnic bigotry while the nations of the world keep on developing in this jet age!

Let African intellectuals stop creating ethnic tensions through unnecessary ethnic discussions that do not move Africa forward. Let us unite and find a solution to African problem. A house cannot be built without a foundation. African countries have no foundation. They were amalgamated and they are still that way after more than 50 years. We must follow the five pillars that make a nation. If we do, Africa will certainly be great! If you know that you are a patriot, join in the campaign to rebuild Africa through dialogue using the five pillars. Join the trend through www.veritasafrique.com

Yes it is stupid to you because you have being indoctrinated from childhood by your parents, teachers , etc that government should take care of you.

Ever ask yourself why all communists and socialist states failed

Government duty is to empower you to provide yourself and your fellow citizens with security , welfare and justice

When you do this, the government celebrates and reward you financially when you extend it towards your fellow citizens

Eg. Instead of giving free education, health services etc which cost government money thereby forcing them to introduce a high taxation which breeds corruption as more public criminals seek to become govt officials in order to loot those taxes, the government should challenge the rich and upper middle class to

1) build quality and affordable schools and hospitals for poor citizens

2) create well paid productive jobs and good business loans for the poor students parents to tap into in order to be able to afford these services for their kids as they get out of poverty.

3) Celebrate and Reward those who achieved the two points above in order to motivate others to do more for their fellow citizens

Eg instead of providing public lawyers which cost money for government forcing them to introduce high taxation which breeds corruption, the government should

1) Celebrate and Reward financially lawyers that fight for the poor who can't afford justice fees

When government encourage and reward the stronger ones through fame and wealth for taking care of the weaker ones amongst them, government spends less.

As government spends less, tax rates are kept low and corruption is kept minimal because there is less money in government which makes government unattractive to public criminals.

I hope you catch the vision now

Joe4lv, Asuustrike2009 and IconTNA thanks for your replies but this is the gospel truth why Switzerland is the most successful society in the world.

U are not making sense at all..........
I think u should stick to what u know best......Ethnic bigotry.
The primary responsibility of any govt is to ensure the security of lives and properties of its citizens......You don't delegate that duty to individuals.
That's why every sovereign state has its own military, police, intelligence units, judicial system, appoint judges and ensure attorneys prosecute criminals.......
Now are u saying the above should be handed over to individuals?
USA is the chief capitalist country, yet the govt has the FBI, CIA, department of justice and various municipal police department.
USA also has the largest military spending of all countries......
So if u become the president of this country, are u saying u will disband the Nigerian police, DSS, EFCC, sack the entire military agencies, retire all Nigerian judges and hand over their duties to human right lawyers, the wealthy, community vigilantes, local hunters and private security firms.......
Abeg reason b4 u write, and if u are incapable of doing that, just keep shut.

The fact that u mentioned Switzerland as a successful country because of its low tax rate shows u are ignorant.
Switzerland has a corporate tax rate of 17.5%, VAT of 8.5% and income tax rate of 13%. It's not even among the countries with the lowest tax rate.......
Sweden , Norway, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Australia, Canada are countries with income tax rate as high as 40% yet they remain the best places to live as per standard of living......
High tax rate does not mean an avenue for corruption.
African countries are the most corrupt, yet they don't have high tax rates.......
U contradicted itself by promoting capitalism but insisted the rich should engage in acts of charity by opening free schools and hospitals......
Oga, the best of things are never cheap. There's a reason why the best schools and hospitals are also the most expensive.......
How about govt ensuring it's citizens are properly educated and in good health by running affordable social institutions, individuals may complement govt effort by opening parallel institutions targeted at whatever cadre of the society they desire.......
My advice for u in 2017, use the time u waste creating non profitable threads on nairaland to read.....
U will come back and thank me in December.....

The megabytes I spend every month studying and reading global news documentaries and information, can buy you lot of things for your girlfriend

Forget NL, some of us read far and wide in order to help our society progress.

As for your useless socialist ideas of big government for all, continue with it after all if your people are unable to develop like US a Europe and Japan, it won't affect my people

As for me, I have shown my people the way to catch up with US Europe and Japan when they are serious.

One day my people will apply some of our ideas and avoid those ones we warned them to avoid
