The members of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and textile workers under aegis of National Union of Textile Garment Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) on Tuesday stormed headquarters of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC), Alausa, Ikeja, protesting electricity disconnection in two major Lagos base industries, NICHEMTEX and COSTYN, a development that has led to closure of both companies since November 2016.

The workers numbering over 200 besieged the IKEDC premises, chanting solidarity songs and carrying placards with inscription like “President Muhammadu Buhari, time to revive power sector”, ” Buhari, save us from Shylock Disco”, “Yes to local industries, no to marginalization”, “Governor Ambode, save our industries”, “Ikeja Disco, save our jobs, reconnect COSTYN, Ilupeju, NICHEMTEX , Ikorodu” and many others.
