Champion Ole!!!

Champion of Corruption!!

Champion of stealing $12Billion in 2 years!! even his protege Abacha couldn't manage that!

of course they look up to him, they definitely haven't had the guts to rob Nigeria the way he did!!

If we are a serious nation we should be asking what deal Atiku struck with the US to gain their backing   America does not take interest in something they dont profit from.

once upon a time they backed saddam for their interest and ousted him when he was not doing their bidding, Nouri Al-Maliki the present prime minister and members of his government are at the final stage of passing a bill that will see america drilling Iraqi oil and profiting to the tune of 75%.
History has it also how america backed Mobutu Seseseco in other to protect their business interest.

I think its hi-time we begin to ask Atiku what deal he struck and in who's interest, that he is getting all this backing from the US.

The latest pointer to this is the latest concerns by the US over the religious antecedents of Buhari and yaradua. Is that not an attempt to raise some funny issues which Nigerians may want to play down on in the run up to 2007 elections. Nigerians should watch out for  this, wherever Americans go they exacerbate issues like this while exploiting the situation to achieve their aim. They have put the Suni against the Shiites in Iraq.

Nigerians must not fall to this cheap plot.

Regardless of the situation, a true leader doesn't quit.

Trial and tribulation is part of the game.

As a politician and a leader, one should be totally equipped to deal with haters, losers, hopeless people and other numbers of obstacles.

I truly admire Mr Atiku's boldness and strength to deal with the dead heads.

@Big B1

Let me for one moment be fair to the person of IBB, expecially now that he is no longer in the race to Aso Rock.

He was one of the best brains in the army amongst his colleagues. very much aware of the trend arround the globe, amongst the whole military heads of state he had the best economic blue print but lacked genuine desire to pursue them. A fact which accounts for why I disliked him, I don't forgive him mostly for the fact that he knew the right thing at his time and refused to do it. If there was sincerity in him he would have laid a great foundation to a contemporary and secular Nigeria but unfortunately his heart and consience seems to betray his thoughts and ideas.

As an individual I admire his family values a lot, and his ability to keep a very united home. At some point I thought there is the posibility that this guy was only coming to re-write his past so that Nigeria's history will remember him kindly given the fact that he has achieved virtually all there is to achieve but there is a part of me which also thinks he was just too big a gamble for this nation to embark on.

If I was him I would have simply apologised to the Nation sometime ago and dedicate the rest of my life to ensuring our nation does not make the mistakes of the past. (note: not by being president)

meanwhile BigB1 whats the motivation behind your name? was it an attempt to spell IBB in reverse?/?         IBB = Big B 1

@MKREN:

If you get the chance and get to know this man for a moment, believe me, you will have no choice but to fall in love.

He's very loving, very funny, full of wisdom, very focused, very playful, but very serious as well and his intentions are bright and sincere.

Unlike the bulldozer (OBJ), I call him Mr sloppiness.

You can never compare the man to any of these clowns. I wish Nigerians wake up on time and see the light before is too late.
The man is here to correct things and return Nigeria as a nation back on top for- ever.

His next action will be disclosed very soon.

Do you really think OBJ stopped IBB in any way?

If your answer is yes, then you're a lost soul.

Very very soon OBJ will be running back to IBB like a little baby. IBB is the only sincere friend that OBJ has at the moment; FYI, if not for IBB, trust me, there is not OBJ.

Guys, just chill and let's focus on Atiku for now.

Embattled Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar returned to the country on Sunday after a four-week vacation in the United States amidst tight security provided by some youths hired from Niger Delta region of the country. The Niger Delta is the home base of the dreaded movement for the emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and some other militant organizations fighting for the control of oil wealth.

Local media reports had indicated that a new set of security outfit was in charge of the Vice President’s security on his return. Elendureports.com can now reveal that political associates and other stakeholders on the well-being and political career of the Vice President had met days before his arrival and concluded that the security of the man may not be guaranteed if it is left in the hands of Nigerian authorities and therefore decided to hire the services of very reliable, and independent group to ensure that Atiku Abubakar no harm came to him.

According to very reliable sources who spoke to Elendureports.com on the condition of anonymity, about three “networks” were suggested for Atiku’s security. The ‘networks’ included members of the defunct Bakassi vigilante which operated mainly in Abia and Anambra States of the South East between 2001 and 2003 and other groups. However, Niger Delta Youths were chosen because they were believed to be focused and well-trained for surveillance and prompt action.

According to our dependable sources, the well-dressed, clean-shaved young men were able to find their way into the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and received the Vice President. They escorted him into his private car, a Range Rover. They were also with him inside the vehicle as he was driven out of the airport to his residence at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

The Niger Delta Youths, about a dozen of them, according to our sources, were in charge of seeing that the mammoth crowd that gathered at the residence of the Vice President did not mob him when he arrived.  “You can see for yourself. These boys have done a very good job. Look at the orderly manner they have controlled the crowd without even harassing or rough-handling anybody,” an Atiku associate told this reporter.

Also on the same day, Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police Lawrence Alobi was prevented from entering into the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by an army officer posted to control movement in and around the airport prior to the arrival of Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Alobi, who is in charge of providing security within the Federal Capital Territory of which the airport was part of, arrived the presidential wing of the airport with a truck load of armed policemen accompanying his chauffeur-driven blue colored 504 salon car but was stopped at the gate by an Army Officer who, this reporter later identified as Captain Okafor. The Captain was firm in his insistence that the Commissioner of Police should not enter the area.

The Commissioner of Police had tried to explain to Captain Okafor that as the Commissioner of Police in charge  of the Federal Capital Territory, he need not be in the list to enter the area but the officer said he had orders from above not to allow anybody to enter.

Alobi told the Captain that he will not rise in his career for insulting him, unmindful of his position, age and years of service to the nation. The Commissioner directed his officers and men to leave the place as ordered by Captain Okafor.

Hahahahaha, the same dramma is playing out here.
What a shame if this is true.

I still consider IBB as the worst thing to have happened to Nigeria and Nigerians.

Back to the topic.

Nigerians and Nigeria as a nation are not ready to handle this coming election without getting a neutral body involved.

And you think US would be neutral? Think again
You don't give a fish to a cat for safe keeping.

Do you know that international cronies (usually Americans & Europeans) give loans to their puppets African leaders and give them strict rules regarding the spending of the money.

e.g

British Crony: I will lend you $15million if you buy my superb 20yr old plane for $14million, we will put $1m in a swiss account for you and freeze your account when you eventually get caugth. By the way, your country can pay back the loans over 5 years at 26% APR. Think about it, you have nothing to lose, we are your friends

you keep referring to how good the US has been to Nigeria but you fail to realize that every thing the US does is for the good of its American citizens and their insatiable thirst for oil.

US brings chaos to countries, Iraq is worse off, Vietnam was a failure.

You need to read up on the war in Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down) and the American resolve after the incident. Look at the war in Liberia, US did not volunteer their soldiers until after the hostilities had ended unlike Nigeria.

Nigeria would send troops to any African country just to prevent the escalation of war. It might be a stupid thing to do but it is kind.
Re: Atiku Invites US To Partake In Our Elections by BigB11(m): 3:35pm On Jan 24, 2007
@EASYY:

You need to read the topic and the subject of this discussion. The topic has nothing to do with IBB or Big B1. It will be civilized to focus on the topic.
We all know how I feel and there is absolutely no need to divert from the main issue.

We shall go back to IBB's mission and vision profoundly when the time is right. For now, let's stay focused on Atiku and his estrange boss.

I can assure you that my love for sweet Nigeria is ineffable; trust me, you do not care about this country as much as I do.
If you think deeply, you will quickly realize that my recommendation to give IBB a chance to redeem himself is bright and sincere.
Believe me, we will return back to IBB and his incredible ambition.
Re: Atiku Invites US To Partake In Our Elections by BigB11(m): 3:46pm On Jan 24, 2007
@Stranger12:

One of the reasons why the 1993 election was so successful and still the most credible election that ever took place in Nigeria till today, was the fact that United States representatives played a major part before and during the process.

It is clear and simple that Nigerians and Nigeria as a nation will never be successful in many ways if a neutral body (to monitor and coordinate the coming election) is not immediately introduced.

We should be smart, we shouldn't allow ego, pride and ignorance to jeopardize the security of the citizens and the future of our country.
Re: Atiku Invites US To Partake In Our Elections by McKren(m): 4:41pm On Jan 24, 2007
The US aided the freest and fairest election ever seen in Nigeria in 1993 and then in 2001 there were reports of electoral fraud in their own Presidential election that saw the emergence of the Present regime. Do you think allowing a regime that rose to power as a result of fraud to preside over our own election is the smartest thing to do?

BigB1 times do change and we have to keep up with it, 1993 Nigeria is different from 2007 Nigeria. Our challenges and ambitions as a Nation now is different from then so I dont see why the US will preside over our election.
This same regime presided over an election in Iraq that saw the emergence of Nouri Al-Maliki an ally of shia Militia leader Muqtadar Alsadar, what is the result?// instead of the central government to build a secular Iraq they are empowering Shiites against Sunis a situation which will cause unending crisis and continues stay of the coalition forces.

BigB1 please you proclaim love for Nigeria please demonstrate it in you posts.
Your suggestions can only be likened to keeping a chick in the custody of a hawk.

This is the same America that is insinuating that Nigeria will be a failed state by 2015. US loves no one but themselves alone.
Re: Atiku Invites US To Partake In Our Elections by Easyy(m): 5:20pm On Jan 24, 2007
Perhaps some of us do not realise that the US has been involved in the past few elections held in Nigeria directly or indirectly.

What exactly has happened in these elections?

What part does the US have to play in Nigerian politics other than an advisory role?
