Many times when I see pictures of different streets in different parts of Canada, they always look deserted. Even in pictures taken during other seasons. Why is this so. People don't walk?

Due to black ice, I once witnessed a car spin 3 times on highway 1 west before ending up in a ditch. It happened so fast and was a frightening experience... luckily the guy was okay. I do not blame some drivers that jump on a public transport when the roads are terrible. The gov is really trying when it comes to clearing the ice on the road.

That guy that spun 3 times was me grin

Lwkmd. Your posts are very educative and you always manage to add a touch of humour even in scary times. Kudos boss.

Thanks boss. Looking at settling down my family in Hamilton but targeting jobs in Toronto and GTA. I dont know if people do dis seeing that it is about 1hour 20 mins of driving.

Comments are welcome from all

Blackbuddy:

Hi, Hamilton is a nice, small and younger city and a manufacturing hub especially for steel production. Some steel production plants are located including one owned by Arcelor Mittal, world's largest steel producer. If you have a blue collar background in manufacturing, you could consider settling there.

You can use this link to search for different spec of cars in Hamilton to get likely prices, https://www.kijiji.ca/b-cars-trucks/gta-greater-toronto-area/c174l1700272

This link will help you get started in looking at accommodation options in Hamilton, https://www.kijiji.ca/b-apartments-condos/hamilton/c37l80014

Here's a link to the elementary schools in Hamilton, http://www.hwdsb.on.ca/elementary/schools/

You can do school comparison here, http://ontario.compareschoolrankings.org/elementary/SchoolsByRankLocationName.aspx

All the best ahead.

People do but your quality of life will suffer. You'll always be in traffic, fuel cost, wear and tear on the car, etc. Furthest I'd stay out of Toronto would be in Mississauga.

Oh my. Landing in March, so these dates won't work. Thanks for the info.

You can still try to contact IOM. I know a few people that were allowed to attend sessions other than their own and at least two that successfully "gatecrashed".

When there is a will, there is a way....

Lol. People do walk however, Canada is not densely populated like Nigeria. Total population is about 36 million.....that's about 6 times less than Naija.

When it comes to tech(Computer Science, Software Engineering et al) Waterloo is top. McGil also has some reputation(at least among Silicon valley companies).

Hello house! Can someone help me with two inquiries?

1. I just got my PPR and would like to know which province or city is best for HR jobs & professionals?

2. What is the safest part of Toronto for a newbie to live which is also affordable with good transport links to downtown.

Lol. I was talking to a friend that recently migrated to England. He said the place is too quiet, nothing like getting to the bustop and hearing someone shouting "ketu Ojota mytwef" I guess Oyinbo people are just very conservative.
