Good day house, My final destination is Winnipeg, Manitoba. I want to ask if there are specific routes one must follow to the final destination being first time in Canada. I have heard that first-timers to Canada had to land at a specific airport before heading to their final destinations. Some say it is applicable only to first-time visitors, while others say some other things. For instance, my in-laws were directed to Vancouver during their first visit before being allowed to proceed to Winnipeg. My family and I are planning to book our flight in few days to land in October. I'll appreciate your responses/advice please. Thanks. Regards |

Sandydav: The key word you should look for is legal. If the suite is a legal suite, it will have its own separate heating system where you have a separate thermostat and also egress windows and high ceilings. I would look out for recently built legal suites. Trust me, if an apartment/ house doesn't have a/c, one would wish they live in a basement suite on some of those occasional heat wave summer days. Hope this helps 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hello my people. Pls i have a little challenge and would appreciate some solid answers. I hope to land Calgary by the first week of October. I will be using Ethiopia Airline. Now, i just noticed that i have just 1hr 30mins before my flight from Toronto to Calgary and my sister, who is picking me from the airport, is worried i would miss my flight because of the formalities i need to complete at Toronto. Pls, i would appreciate any info about this. I have read some landing stories where you are put on the next flight if you miss your flight while being processed. Can this be confirmed? Does anyone have a different story to this. Thanks alot in advance. Very urgent pls. God bless you all |

If your infants are less than 2yo, they get just 10kg each in baggage, only above 2yo gets the full baggage allocation. If you are flying via abj, pls go early so that you can reason with them one on one, i upgraded my foodstuff baggage to 32 kg with 22k and the remaining bag were max 24kg Kwado87: 6 Likes |

sweetrie:Yes I was. It may be because you are doing something wrong; check the date of birth, and if you have more than one passport submitted ensure the tracking number is for the right date of birth. |

@pipes1759 your write up was entertaining. Welcome! @ the basement suite ish, @beea is right about ensuring it is a legal suite. However, since you have a toddler I think you may wanna just opt out of renting a basement. Having a window to look out of would make a world of difference for your kid. 7 Likes |

I totally agree with this. And like @pipes1759 said ensure you have access to control your heating/cooling. I stayed in an air bnb basement and would never try it again except if I have access to the thermostat vcole: |

Mamaroon: to correct myself pls. Quebec actually accepts 7 different evaluations of French including TEF Canada....so no need to do TEFAQ separately for Quebec. see below see this link https://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/requirements-programs/language-knowledge.html Arrima opens today at 8pm Montréal time 1 Like |

Uzoreen: Don't worry, that shouldn't be a challenge at all. If the delay is as a result of your official landing formalities AIR CANADA would book you on the next available flight to Calgary. 1 Like |
