The update is cool...if you know how to use Snapchat well you won't have a problem with the new WhatsApp.. And there is an icon where you can view ur contacts...the icon beside the search button is for viewing contacts....get your facts right before saying something and because you don't like it doesn't mean you should discourage others from it

The new update really sucks. I wonder what they were thinking. WhatsApp built its popularity on a platform of simplicity and perhaps it may loose out on its essential feature if they keep dishing out these shitty 'improvements'.

There is no way WhatsApp can be like Snapchat, even Facebook is being threatened by snapchat and Twitter will soon be.... no celebrity will even try using whatsapp status due to the phone number, unless whatsapp removes phone no there will be no traffic....

Mind you, Snapchat users follow celebrities more and not their friends, lol,

Celebs like rickross, yemi alade and kim k would make you love Snapchat like food, lol

I think the new update is lovely. I'm liking it now. You have picture status update or video status update. Since you can't type what's on your mind, you can say it out on your video status update. I think that's better.

I actually love this new whatsapp, very cool. At least no need for so many apps now. The only thing I hate is that they removed the old status but other than that it is very cool. You can still see your contacts.

I prefer the old one jare.

Whatsapp was a more official forum. If you want play, you go to FB. What is different now? angry

Update status will be for 24 hours. Soon it will be allowed to stay permanently. When Zuck is done with all this transformations, whatsapp will no longer be different from Facebook.

flyca na MZ make you dey vex this early morning? cheesy

Well I guess since he's the owner of the app, he has the right to do with it what he pleases. Albeit consumers have a say too. When he starts losing money, he'll have a rethink. So long as he's cashing out, he'll maintain his stance.

The new update is cool. And even with all the new features,it still maintained its simplicity and doesn't lag.

then why is whatsapp trying to be like snapchat? it's really disgusting when i got the update,i hate when things try to be like other things, whatsapp should have came up with a better upgrade....do you know how many companies try to buy out snapchat, just like Facebook did whatsapp, but thwy declined the offer...trust me Snapchat is the future of communication, and there is another feature they are working on now,if that comes out??lol, whatsapp would slowly become history

Taking off the status icon makes this an epic fail for me. I mean.... you can add whatever, but taking out status update?? I wish i didn't update to this new rubbish. This is a big thumb down.

You're seeing Snapchat,I'm seeing a new feature.... Snapchat is one of the worst apps I've ever come across. Very buggy, lags like hell, let'snot talk about the amount of data it consumes and have you ever tried chatting with that thing?..Don't dare tell me Snapchat is the future of communication. Whatsapp can NEVER become history. Do you even know when WhatsApp started?.

Anyways, when y'all cry and rant finish, you'll adapt and continue to use the whatsapp then after sometime, your tune will change. I bet even after all the ranting, y'all wouldn't think of uninstalling it lol

The old one is better.
I don't even understand this new one. I just woke up Friday morning to see my whatsap app has been changed. I had to unistall it and collect thru sender my neighbours own that have not change.
Why I do like the old whatsap is cos of its privacy. why will I update sumfin and it sends notification to all my contacts telling them they can comment? the new one does not make sense abeg. they should try and improve it or revert back to normal.
