Na wa o for CIC! na any slight thing dem dey pick on. You application looks good. The problem likely will be the relationship between your work experience and your proposed program.

One thing we must understand is that these officers do not completely understand the indepth description of roles of work experience/current activities if they are not directly in line with the proposed program. They just want to see the same line or current activity with intended program. Anything allitle different, we must broaden their scope and relate how the current job is either a good part of the the program or an aspect of it that need further development. This is where the statement of purpose will come in.

I think you need one that will better open their mind to these terminologies, their application in your career in telecoms, how the master program in SPACE PHYSICS would further add and in what capacity.I mean, questions will bother around
1.why space physics?
2.Does this person have any research or work as a space scientist?
3.How will space physics add to someone working in telecoms?
4.If he says he will come back after study, how will he use space physics in nigeria since he has 5 years experience in telecoms?
5. How will space physics add up in telecoms?

I would assume a visa officer may want to understand how space physics and telecoms go together and how your proposed program would significantly add to your advancement having a career in telecoms.

They probably would think you are going for the master because you have a physics degree and not because of your current activity. You will have to prove them wrong and tell them all about your job and how more knowledge in space physics would add to it and make your career improve. If you just graduated from university, they would have seen your intention to study space physics as genuine atleast to research on space technology.

Beside, your program is research based and to say you intend researching on an area you are not currently having work experience in or have not completely enlightened a visa officer about possibilities with your master program will be seen as a non genuine move.

All the same, i still suggest you order for your gcms note. It will be more revealing and then we can hit the nail on the head. Meanwhile, start thinking and putting down the areas in your current job that directly relate with your program and if need be, do further research on some area of application space physics has in telecoms.

Where are the people saying I cannot apply from Cameroun? Congrats bro!! I am still waiting for my official approval admission by the school of graduate studies. Academic Unit already approved admission and full funding $20,000 each year for two years. Graduate studies department takes 2-4 weeks to approve. The wait has been painful. It would certainly mean I cannot apply in Nigeria due to back log.
bro I thought we have passed this? I remember saying u should apply and give us the feedback. NB: @ejaloni123 applied from Rwanda cos he is studying there. but just like I said b4 tey and apply from Cameroun and let the house know how it goes. # Endofdiscussion

Sincerely, I was having no SOA to show and I didn't show any, but I wrote a letter to the visa officer clarifying my funding status at the University. I got a status update 2weeks and some days.

Good morning guys! I am new here and I've been following this thread anonymously and it's been helpful. I have a question please. I submitted my application for a study permit few weeks ago and I'm worried about this police certificate issue. I lived and worked in Qatar for up to 9 months between 2014 and 2015. Do you think I will be asked to submit a police certificate from Qatar. Although I can make effort to request for the certificate but I still want to confirm from those who have experienced this before so I know whether to go ahead with the request or not before IRCC sends a mail requesting for it. Many thanks.

Distinction without a difference. Student or visitor are all legal status. In fact legal status is what Canadian visa requirement stipulates. Will let the house know. It shall surely end in praise. End of discussion.

Greetings,
I also got rejection email from University of Regina but I believed I caused it due to the fact that I changed from thesis based to co-op course based masters.

I will suggest you should apply for University of Saskatchewan. Good luck!

my academic details are:

B.ENG Chemical Engineering

Intend going for M.ENG Chem. Eng

Graduated with a 2.1

Appreciate, yea but i did my degree in benin republic (french country) hope it won't be an issue?

That may be an issue except you were taught in English and can give proof of same, eg, submitting a letter to that effect, or if your French is very good, u may check out schools in the French speaking part of Canada, they may not be too predisposed to requesting proof of English proficiency(not too sure about this though) all in all mail your grad cord in the school and make your request known

Did you write an SOP to justify why you're going for another Masters instead of PhD?
The VO in that light may not see progression and therefore question your intent. What area did you do your 1st Masters?
Some of this things needed to be well explained with a good SOP

@DatechMan, @Yomalicious, @Austinpee4
My supervisor was the one that asked me to put in for another master with the hope of transferring to phd in the second year so that it will boost my chances of getting scholarship. But I have informed him about the rejection, he promised to give me a letter to the vo, explaining why I was admitted for master and the intention of transferring to phd in2nd year.

Concerning gcms, I would have liked to request for it but the processing time is long and with that i wouldn't be able to make sept entry. And if i differ my admission to Jan, I wouldn't be able to do that for my scholarship and the truth is that without the financial support, I wouldn't be able to finance my study.

Pls reply. thanks

I understand but I've tried searching online but it's actually not the result as i want. Then i narrowed down to remove the toefl. Yet. Twas all because of the urgency, don't wanna look unserious to my parents. Need to leave dis year. He's ready to sponsor but it seems I'm not ready to leave. PS: ANY OTHER COOL COUNTRY FOR STUDY AND WORK WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
You can try Fraser International College.... It's a pathway program that leads you into second year at Simon Fraser University

I think the VO may be wondering why you are going for another Masters program. I think you should explain to your supervisor that it may not be easy for you to get a TRV if you are applying for another masters. Try and convince him so that you can apply for PhD probably for next term. While at it, order for your gcms note as well. All the best.

baba sorry for the delay. But I will love to know if you did some things in your application. 1. Did you include your bsc transcript to show you have done some course related to space physic? If at at all in your bsc program you did any telecoms related courses? Because to me not all VO are academically inclined in relating courses done in previous and future programs. Please get the letter from your supervisor and probably risk it again if it will be treated by another vo that understands.
