r231:Best response. Companies dont like employee turnover any more than u like to quit your job on such flimsy grounds. . . There has to be a concensus somewhere, either u let me stay with the wifey and help her through this difficult time, or you make preparations to take us both, or u carry go with your job - i'll find a better one before u know it! Due to the credit crunch, my employer has fired over half of its employee base but cant get rid of the likes of me! we leave when we want to move on to more challenging things and not the other way round ![]() |

the said female boss of yours, is she married? moreso, what kinda stupid bizz holds u for a year when no be say u be new branch manager? and i dont think if you refuse to go, you will be sacked. make ur reasons known, and am sure a suitable replacement will be tot of. unless ur organzation hired just u and ur boss. ![]() |

404eater:i guess they have answered u~ my guy have u eaten any Dog meat of recent so~ @Post well the said person is the MANAGER Of the company and he should be gone with his boss (a married lady) for close to a year but during which his wife may have to go to labour while he's away on official business with the manager now its either he stays with his wife or loose his JOB because there is no replacement in the company, it sounds funny but getting a SACK @this present economic crunch may not be the best that can happen 2 any employee not to mention an M.D, any ideas~ and pls the company aint prepared 2 send the wife over with her hubby and the boss~ so she stays in nigeria~ |

For me I would say that is a chance of a lifetime. Be it a course, some other form of further training, experience or a transfer abroad, forget who he's going with, that is not the issue here except you're making it one, you keep on emphasizing the fact he's going with a lady for one year, what has that got to do with anything? Is he eloping with her?. I would think that is a sort of progress/promotion for him now and when he eventually returns, if he does come back!. But better still for all you know it might be an open door for him. An opportunity which might never come again. So his wife is pregnant with his first child? Big sentiments. Is he the first man that would miss the birth of his first child? That is why parents and in-laws abound. 190:If the company is not going to be responsible for his wife, though I find that hard to believe, then he should do it. A whole Manager of a company that can afford to send two of its staff abroad for a year should be able to apply for a visa for his spouse bearing in mind that he has a permit to work abroad, thereby living there for a year. Immigration laws allow your spouse to accompany you if you're being posted abroad legally. That way his wife can either go with him now or join him later. Or is your guy going on a visitor's visa? Is he staying in the same apartment with his boss for a year? |
