On individual distribution of wealth yes but as a State no. Most rich Anambrians live outside the State but are doing well individually where they reside. The richest States in terms of funds available for governance are Lagos, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom.

Igbos are too dull and Yorubas are too much for this rubbish. The way your people run to SW for survival is enough to prove we are far ahead of you.

I was surprised to see someone post bank deposit as a measure wealth and no reasonable igbo man could call him to order.

Generally, Igbos are into buying and selling and for this reason you are likely to deposit money on a daily basis and withdraw money to buy more goods frequently too.
This doesn't mean you worth that much.

A very good example is this; your business is worth 5000 and you sell goods worth 3000 in a day so you deposit 3000 in bank and withdraw 3000 the following day to buy more goods. The following day you sell 3500 worth of goods and deposit the money again. Now, your total bank deposit is 6500 but the actual money in the account is just 3500. If this should repeat itself for seven days using an average deposit of 3000 it means bank deposit will hit 21,000 while actual cash in bank will remain around 3000.

Go to school you say No. You want to go to Alaba market in Lagos.

You keep beating your chests Anambra this and that without knowing what is going on in other regions.

For example, Anambra is an industrialized state by your standard but Ogun state is the most industrialized state in Nigeria. Even more industrialized than Lagos.

Innoson motors produce vehicle in Anambra or SE but Proforce in Ogun state owned buy a Yoruba man produce Amoured protected vehicle for security agencies and even Mine Resistance Armoured protected vehicle for military, drones, ships etc.

Now you can see why most Yorubas have been ignoring this thread. Because we know the person that open it is a product of Half education and currently completing the remaining half in Alaba market or somewhere in South West.

You might also not know that the richest man after Dangote is a Yoruba man and the richest woman in Nigeria is also a Yoruba woman.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/open-letter-asiwaju-bola-ahmed-tinubu/

et me bring this home: someone passed a comment recently that he would want Biafra to become a reality because he knows the Igbo nation will survive. That comment led me to deeper introspection as I wondered if the Yorubas can truly survive. Let me cite my first example. From Oyo to Osun, Ogun to Ondo, Ekiti to Kwara and Lagos, hardly will one see any serious industry or manufacturing concern owned by a Yoruba person. I am not talking about portfolio businesses or one-man business concerns. Most industries in Oyo State are owned by the Lebanese. The native business and industry gurus who dominated the landscape- Nathaniel Idowu, Amos Adegoke, Lekan Salami, Alao Arisekola, Adeola Odutola, Jimoh Odutola, Chief Theophilus Adediran Oni and others- are all gone with no credible replacements. I’m sure you remember the tyre factory of the Odutolas and how Jimoh Odutola was even asked by the Governments of Kenya and Ghana to set up a similar factory in their countries. Chief Theophilus Adediran # Oni , popularly called T.A # Oni & Sons started the first indigenous construction company in Nigeria. He willed his residence- Goodwill House, to the Oyo/Western state government, to be used as a Paediatric Hospital, which is now known as T.A Oni Memorial Children Hospital at Ring Road in Ibadan. This sprawling family Estate and residence was cited on a 15acre piece of land, 65 rooms, with modern conveniences, Olympic Swimming Pool and stable for Horses, etc. People like Chief Bode Akindele started companies like Standard Breweries and Dr Pepper Soft drink factory at Alomaja in Ibadan. Broking House built by the late Femi Johnson, an insurance magnate, still stands glittering in the mid-day sun as an epitome to a rich history that Ibadan has. The most serious and only notable Yoruba entrepreneur we have now is Michael Adenuga. I say this quite consciously because most of the other names are oil and gas barons. Most of what stood as testaments of industry in Oyo State are gone- Exide Batteries, Leyland Autos and many others. In its place are shopping malls and road side markets but no nation develops through buying and selling alone- especially when you’re not actually producing what you’re selling. Hypermarkets and supermarkets have taken over because of the need to feed our insatiable consumer-appetite and foreign tastes. In one instance, an ancient landmark in the form of a hotel was demolished to pave way for a mall. That is how low we have sunk. If our past is better than our present- if we always look back with nostalgia frequently, then there is a problem. The case of other states is not different. Osun’s case is pathetic. Ditto for Ondo and Ekiti. Ogun State can boast of some factories at Sango-Otta and Agbara axis but most of them are not owned by the Yorubas. There is no significant pharmaceutical company owned by any Yoruba except for Bond Chemicals in Awe, Oyo State- and its wallet share is very insignificant. For Lagos State, more than 70% of the manufacturing concerns and major industries in the State are owned by the Igbos. If the Igbos were to stop paying tax in Lagos State, the IGR of Lagos State will reduce by over 60%. In contrast, Sir, go to the South East and look at the manufacturing concerns in Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi. Please don’t forget those were areas ravaged by civil war a mere forty something years ago. The Igbos have certainly made tremendous progress but the Yoruba nation has regressed. I wish to state that this letter is not meant to whip up primordial considerations or ethnic sentiments but just to put things in proper perspective

That letter is what in civilized society is termed positive criticism. The author is bringing to attention of leaders a need for sustained industrialization.

All these people he listed, did you know Yorubaland had that many industrialists? No, you did not know, not until this author shared this info.

We live in a service economy, what is called globalization. The author was familiar with the old tradition of industrialization where you get land build production facility or plant, employ people and sign up distributorship to get your products to market. He is not conversant with the way things are done in age of internet.

Yoruba has shifted from plqnting capital to flying capital. For the past 30yrs we have pioneered and built a fail-safe model for service industry across the globe. A Yorubaman can own a multi-billion business interest in Nigeria but lives in England. In the age of internet communications and multi-media you can do business anywhere anytime. Who owns and operates data centers in Nigeria, who owns and operates cellular in Nigeria, who owns and operates online distributiin and shipping, who owns and operates call centers in Nigeria? These and many more that he did not list but are they are the big income earners in new age are all controlled by Yoruba.

He said if Ibo leave Lagos IGR will drop because their shops and industry will leave with them. So what happened to Lagos and Oun and Ibadan not drying up as result of the departure of thosr big industrialists in his list? Same effect will happen in the departure of Ibo, replacements will step in.

Look at Kodak how smart phone camera has forced them out of their monopoly. Same with Xerox. You can take graphic image of a document and share across the globe in seconds. You can fax and receive fax on your smartphone. This is the power of innovation, the ability not just to invent but to forecast and see ahead and adjust yourself along. Yoruba has been doing that before Nigeria came into being.

Isn't that why you guys label us betrayers, cause we shift when conditions change and demand a new input and action. Well we are not only flexible in politics, we practice same flexibility in industry and commerce.

Look what we have done with Oodua Investment and Development Corporation, we reinvented it. For every ten multi-billion business contracts signed in Lagos, at least six are touched by OIDC through one or more of its diverse subs. It is the richest wholly indigenous Corporation in Nigeria and continues to wax strong. The author did not list it.

We love that he wrote the wake up call, it is patriotic of him to do so. It keeps us on our feet even in the new way in which we are planting Yoruba across the globe.

State with higheat number of billionaires is not a ranking just to be made with lips. No one becomes billionaire by moving just lips, you also move feet. They must have created something that brought in the billions. Where is the creation? Match each billionaire from Anambra to his source of wealth and locate it in Anambra. Not anywhere else, but in Anambra.

Most rich Anambrans live within Anambra unlike in Imo state where 99% of their barely rich people live outside their state. Also about 1/3rd of rich Imolites are resident in Anambra where they have their investments, the likes of Orange drugs, Chikason etc. All the big shots from Imo state that are into pharmaceuticals are all at Headbridge drug mart.

Top 6 Most Powerful Women In Oil And Gas

Read more: http://www.nasdaq.com/article/top-6-most-powerful-women-in-oil-and-gas-cm502914#ixzz4acxkGdyh

By Andrew Topf for Oilprice.com

When it comes to glass ceilings, there is probably none tougher to crack than the oil and gas industry. For decades the corner office has been the preserve of alpha-male CEOs with a high tolerance for risk.

Today, the maxim still holds true. In Oilprice.com's list of the 12 richest oil and gas tycoons, not one is a woman. Recently though, Vicki Hollub, a 33-year veteran with Occidental Petroleum, made American corporate history by becoming the first female CEO of a major U.S. oil company.

Hollub, 55, will assume assume control of Occidental's global oil and gas business, replacing current chief executive Stephen Chazen who will step down at the 2016 AGM.

“The board selected Vicki based on her strong track record of successfully growing our domestic oil and gas business profitably and efficiently,” Occidental said in a statement announcing her promotion. According to Bloomberg, Hollub was paid $3.66 million in 2014, including a $516,697 salary plus stock options. The Alabama-trained mineral engineer oversaw wells in Texas and other U.S. states that reaped $12 billion.

Much ink has been spilt over why more women haven't cracked the glass ceiling in America, including a new Pew Research report that explores perceptions about women's ability to lead companies. Among the findings: 50 percent of women and 35 percent of men agree that many businesses aren't ready to hire women for top executive positions. Another study drilled down into the backgrounds of 277 CEOs from the largest publicly-traded U.S. and international oil and gas companies. It found that the most likely reason for the dearth of female oil and gas chief executives is the lack of women studying engineering – the most common path to the industry's executive boardrooms. In 2013, only about 13 percent of engineers were female. The good news for women is that the number of CEOs in the industry is expected to increase as more enter the engineering field.

While the 2014 study found that only 1 percent of oil and gas companies surveyed were led by women, a search one year later finds Hollub in good company, with a number of women occupying perhaps not the corner office, but one with a pretty sweet view nonetheless. Following, in no particular order, are women who exert considerable power and influence in the oil and gas industry today:

Mariana Gheorghe, CEO, Petrom.

Ranked 19th in Fortune magazine's 2014 list of most powerful women in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Mariana Gheorghe is considered one of the most influential women in Eastern Europe. The 59-year-old was the first female CEO of Romanian oil and gas group Petrom. After completing degrees in law, economics and corporate finance, Gheorghe worked for the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development form 1993 to 2006, when she took the helm of Petrom.

Ceri Powell, Global Head of Exploration, Royal Dutch Shell.

According to Fortune, Ceri Powell in 2013 became the highest-ranking female executive at Shell when she took charge of the group's global exploration. She is 21st on Fortune's list of most powerful women cited above. Originally from Wales, Powell holds a doctorate in structural geology and joined Shell in 1990. She held numerous positions at Shell in exploration and new business development before undertaking her current post, where she has led new discoveries in Australia, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Gulf of Mexico and Albania, according to Fortune.

Debra Reed, CEO, board chairman, Sempra Energy.

Graduating summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with an undergrad in civil engineering, Reed joined SoCalGas in 1978 and became the company's first female officer 10 years later. As one of 25 female CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, Reed was recognized as one of the magazine's “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” from 2011 to 2014. Salary.com has Reed pulling in $8.85 million in 2014, including base pay of $1.12 million. Reed also serves on the boards of Halliburton and Caterpillar.

Trudy Curran, senior vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary, Canadian Oil Sands Ltd.

With a background in securities and corporate finance law, Trudy Curran joined Canadian Oil Sands in 2002 after holding senior positions with EnCana, Canadian Pacific Limited and now-defunct Canadian Airlines. In 2012, Curran received a Scotiabank Corporate Executives Award and was ranked second out of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, behind No. 1 Amiee Chan, president and CEO of Norsat.

Catherine Uju Ifejika, chairman and CEO, Brittania-U Limited.

In terms of female representation in the upper echelons of oil and gas, Nigeria may be an outlier. The largest oil producer in Africa is headed by a woman, Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, and is seeing a growing number of female oil industry bosses. One of them is Catherine Uju Ifejika, chairman and chief executive of Brittania U Limited, an oil exploration and production company. After graduating with a law degree, Uju Ifejika took a job as junior counsel with Texaco, then became Company Secretary Public and Government Affairs for West Africa. In 2001, she set up Brittania-U with N10 million (USD$50,251) in severance pay from her former employer and a USD$115,577 loan.

The company is currently suing Chevron over the sale of three oil mining leases, for which Brittania-U paid $765 million in 2013. A recent feature on Uju Ifejika, who is described as one of the richest women in Africa, has the oil tycoon dismissing those who criticize her rise to power despite a lack of background in petroleum engineering: “I’m not a geologist and I have never worked in exploration and production,” she told Fascinating Nigeria. “The only thing I know is how to take something that is nothing and create something out of it that you can see and appreciate … Not being an engineer or a geologist was immaterial. Today I speak the language of the geologist, I can interpret the maps and when they bring in technical things we look at them together – because I was able to rise above my fear level.”

Why don't you get that information before posting trash. How many Igbos use Innoson motors not to talk of Nigerians?

Proforce produce military grade vehicles and is largely in use by security agencies within and outside the country.

Many state governments have bought vehicles from the same proforce.

UN bought vehicles from proforce.

Police bought bought vehicles from proforce

Politicians/businessmen have upgraded their vehicles in the same proforce

Even Nigerian army have order vehicles from proforce etc.

Incase you don't know 1 of such vehicle can buy over 20 sub-standard commercial vehicles.
