My problem with these sort of stories is that they hardly tell you what the "innocent" civilians did. Almost invariably, the story starts from soldiers slapped him/her/it.... Buy there were thousands of people who encountered those same soldiers on that particular day so why is it you that they decided to brutalize?

They burnt about 40 BRT buses a few years ago in Lagos because one of them was hit by a vehicle
They burnt down a police station at Ojuelegba several years ago because of a disagreement between a policeman and a soldier

But you do not know what actually happened do you? Do you know whether this story is true in the first place? Don't you think that a picture of a battered woman, while outrageous, is not sufficient evidence that her allegations are true? Do you believe that no one is above manipulating a picture to achieve a hidden agenda? Don't you think an attempt to leave out a critical portion of a story is a sign of dishonesty? And where there is a suspicion of dishonesty, don't you think we must carefully examine all allegations before we pass judgment?
