Dear Dapson, my Wife beats me at the slightest provocation. We've been together for 4years now. When We lived in Texas, I used to make excuses that if I hit her back she will call the police on me. A year ago, I got lucky and got a Job as an Expatriate in Port Harcourt. I give her a good life, she doesn't work or wants nothing that's out of my power to Provide. Last week She attacked me Because I told her to Stay out of my brother and his wife's business. All I could do was defend myself, my forearm was swollen from blocking blows and household appliances. My lips was swollen, eyes black. I had to lie at Work that I made some slight mistakes that led to a fender bender Accident. I'm less than a man for allowing this for so long and not leaving? I'm confused

Yes, even though such cases don't usually get much press, this man is undergoing severe emotional abuse at the hands of this woman.

He needs to realize he is NOT a doormat and that starts with him communicating his feelings to her, particularly on how this situation will not help their relationship.

Not that he should start beating her too; that'll still be him reacting to her cheap manipulation. He should get out of the victim complex by flipping the script.

Yeah, I know it's easier said than done, but he's already reached out for help so I believe he can follow through
