I blame the Nigerian Government not the church although religious leaders have a lot to contribute to the growth of the society if they preaching not only on miracles and prosperity rather helping individuals in developing their skills and also finding an alternative means.

It will still be this bad. The Bible clearly indicates that will the passage of time towards the end of days things will get worse not better all round. And that it is only the Christian community that will be spared this turmoil and turbulence because of their values and associations. Even Jesus alluded to that fact. That the poor will 'always' be around. Though this does not suggest nothing should be done about the situation, to help, but the Bible clearly states the futility of such rather pointing folks towards God who alone can find lasting solutions for individuals and not communities or groups of people.

When people quote the feeding of the 5,000 they fail to understand the context of the event. Basically he fed people 'who came to listen to him' and not just any passerby. Meaning that he takes care of those who care to be around him. And who in the course of seeking him find their material needs lagging behind. He cares for those who make sacrifices for him. Not all the 5,000 were poor just that they had been waiting on him all day and not wanting to leave and miss out found themselves hungry. They were on a camp ground without prior knolwledge of events and had no time to plan their own sustenance. I cannot recall any other time in scriptures where Jesus went about feeding anyone he found willy nilly. He only always took care of those he encountered, received and ministered to.

God will only interevene in the affairs of men and by extension his servants who are wiling to come to him. Don't ever think compassion means a get out of jail card for all and sundry, even the rebellious. You have to come to him first.

though im not a fan of dese pastors,i dont think selling jets would change anything and as sumone noted earlier pastors dont steal ur money,tho they may try to scam u,but cant force money from u,my own idea is this churches can go from owning just schools to banks,automobile companies,manufacturing,even oil companies,for me the best u can do for a man is empower him to fend for himself,then u can now give him jesus(afterwards tho)
