They should buy land no free route abeg, grazing is archaic, nothing you will do if you keep on moving cattle around to produce you more milk, you have to establish a ranch.

SIRmanjar:
[He] said he will hand over lands dat were given to dem in 1962 like say na him papa land.
JUST IMAGINE!! Does he know when the ancestors acquired those lands? Some ethnic groups got their homelands in 1662, long before Lord Lugard who formed Nigeria was born. Long before Lugard's great grandfather was born!

Now this is truly annoying!!!

Please stop saying 'abeg'. This is not a begging matter. It is a matter of morality. Nobody is begging them! We are insisting they do the right thing and stop all these upsetting moves. What happened to good old commercial ranching!? Even the cowboys of America's wild west now herd their cattles in ranches. Wetin!? Kilode!

These routes may still not quell the violence. It is for you to mark the routes, and it is for the herdsmen to stick to them and not stray into farms.

Also, Who told you that people will willingly give up their lands to be demarcated into your proposed grazing routes.

Who also said communities within/around these routes will not encroach if the routes offer life supporting/sustaining economic services for them?

We do hope lasting solution is thought out and implemented.

This approach wont work anywhere in Africa. Indigenes are too ancestorially attached to their lands in this part of the world. The earlier the fulanis embrace modern methods of cattle grazing, the better for their livelihood.

The Elites in the North and Nigeria as a whole should approach matters like this with sincerity.

It still won't solve the herdsmen crises! This is a national security emergency. Herdsmen must be de-armed before the problem can even be engaged.

Those routes you are talking about, Sir, are people's ancestral land, given to them by their ancestors to pass unto the next generation. This will not work. Fearless activists like Fayose (Omoluabi), Fani Kayode (Jagun), Apostle Suleiman (A Man Of God), Wike (Dike Ndi Igbo) and other fearless Southerners will oppose this. Nigerians who wish to see the herdsmen become international businessmen as they should be will oppose this.

Commercial cattle ranching remains the only answer. Cattle business is not politics and should not be politicized.

Moving backwards in Nigeria through Fulani.

Can't Fulani see that these days cattle is grazed in private farms, cattle is no longer marched from place to place for grazing?

What sort of intimidation by Fulani is this in their bid to impose their special type of Islam upon all in Nigeria?

Enough of this retrogression from Fulani in Nigeria.

He made the announcement before attempting implementation to guage the reaction of Nigerians. Let him get the message, what some people in National Assembly could not pass as law, he cannot smuggle through the backdoor. Mba! Kosi chance for that!

I can't believe that enlightened Nigerians are buying into this charade of Boko Haram being addressed as herdsmen.

Instead of taking preemptive steps to cut them to sizes, Southerners are gradually turning into sitting ducks or in extreme cases, turning into mere "keyboards and prayer" warriors. SMH.

The Northern conspiracy is in full effect

I know fearless human rights and social media activists will never let this outrage stand! It has already failed! Give the herdsmen money to set up commercial farms by buying land From Willing Sellers! Don't attempt to collect people's ethnic land! People are too attatched to their ethnic lands and rightly so! Nobody in present day Nigeria is a slave!

This man is just hell bent on forcing this northern agenda down our throats.. He keeps coming up with different strategies of northernizing Nigeria. The north has larger lands than any other region in Nigeria. Why not create artificial grazing land for your killing machine herdsmen. Nawooo. sad sad sad
