Many of these children with no history lesson have come up again to relate Lagos development to the Nigeria factor. Lagos state name disagrees with such notion. The Brazilian Yoruba returnees change the face of Lagos From 1840s,1850s upward etc . Even before Nigeria ever think of existing, the families like JOAQUIM, VERA CRUZ, SOARES, TREZISES, PEREIRA, PINEIRHO, MARTINEZ, MARINHO, DA ROCHA etc made it happen for Yoruba land. No wonder that some people will be perpetually be playing the Second Fiddle To

May God RESET some people's brain whose mentality is programmed with HATRED.

Nigeria is not ready for development because FG uses lagos as it only economic capital, almost all the good pass through lagos port, travelling out of Nigeria, one have to exit through lagos, visas you have to go to lagos.
sensible countries that want development will develop all parts of their country to ease movement and people suffering.
In good countries like South Africa, if you live in Cape town, you dont need to go to Durban to clear your goods or travel out of South Africa from almost a single point causing traffic congestion and multiple accidents.

Why will FG not standardize Enugu international airport, port harcourt international airport, kano international airport, calabar port or ph port or Ibaka sea part, onitsha inland port and benue inland ports.
Everything in Nigeria is based in lagos and some of you are beating your chest because Nigeria is not a true country.

In Germany you fly direct to Berlin, frankfurt,Dusseldorf,Bremen,Hamburg etc,in Nigeria you fly to only lagos and exit from their to travel to east and north.
FG is the failure, so don't attribute Lagos achievement with FG, talking about the port. Lagos port has been booming right from aeons of years majorly for slave trade even before the British arrival not to talk about the existence of Nigeria, Lagos port is far older than Nigeria itself. It very easy to upgrade and then a popular port which will make trades even faster this was why Lagos port was given attention, as for the other port like port harcourt seaport and the others. FG built those port from trash, and even so the government there seems not to be lucrative enough to make utility of port for trade and bring in investors. Just watch even the Lekki seaport under construction by Lagos government will be more functional than those existing port in Nigeria coast outside Lagos. If not for Lagos government the so called Lagos port will be as ph of Warri port. And about those international airport, only Ikeja the city developed solely by Lagos government has the infrastructure to hold such airport. Even the Abuja airport environs is not fit to hold expatriates yet as that region is still undergoing lots of construction work. If wike widened those roads leading to port harcourt airport, clear the shanties around ikwerre. And garranty some measure of security. Then the federal government can come into play, This are what Lagos government is doing. And how has FG make Lagos the economic capital of Nigeria Is it by situating CBN in Abuja, locating World Trade Center in Abuja, making sure every new bank firms situates it's HQ in Abuja. Lagos is economic capital of Nigeria because of the collective efforts of Lagos government.

Am talking about bondage of traffic, spending 4 hours on a journey that should take 30mins. Am talking about bondage of the agberos, NURTW and RTEAN. Am talking about bondage of Police, LASTMA, VIO, Road Safety mounting road blocks at every junction to extort money from road users, am talking about ridiculous laws designed to make life hard for the poor ones.

That is the problem of your people in Nigeria,is only lagos that have the capacity and infrastructure to hold a standard international airport.
As I said before,Nigeria is not a true country and dont want other parts to develop, that is why South Africa and other African countries is developing ahead of Nigeria because Nigerian is a country deeply rooted in tribalism, nepotism and self deceit.

Do you really think that the Northern-dominatated Nigeran government are only interested in developing Lagos and the other Southwest states alone?

Akwa-Ibom state receives the Largest federal allocation, and Uyo during '11-'15, was arguably the fastest developing city in the country, right now its rate of development is 'not so fast'.
Enugu might not receive lots of cash from the FG but Chime did wonders.

Ambode might be corrupt, but he is doing very well, especially on the mainland. Good governance from the state level is the most important factor in infrastructural development.

Lagos state is more developed than the FCT. Lagos city (The Island) is more developed than Abuja.

Only Abuja,PH,Enugu and maybe Ibadan/Kano are more developed than Lagos mainland.

If other state in Nigeria is build by FG with Niger delta oil money, that state will surely look like Lagos or Abuja.
FG make Lagos it economic capital after moving Nigeria capital from Lagos.
-Lagos receive high allocation from Nigeria.
-Bank headquarters, oil companies, airline, sea port,Embassies and what makes a country is all located in Lagos by FG.
All this is the source of economic development in Lagos and cause of migration towards Lagos.

Na talk like this they make me want to slap somebody, Lagos became this beautiful because of a man of vision BAT.
No be this Lagos we dey in the 90s, even foreign media make jests of Nigeria using Lagos as an example.
Now that people with vision had taken over to change Lagos to what it is today, haters no gree us hear word, business people will generally gravitate towards what and where will help their business.
No one is forced to come to Lagos, na dem prefair Lagos and that includes your vision less leaders who will rather invest all their stolen money in Lagos than their States.

The north is comfortable of Lagos been the economic capital of Nigeria and like to maintain the statue quo because they are just interested in stealing the oil money, lagos state government is trying but the government there inherited an already built state with 100% federal presence and support, since 1999 lagos state government built only two bridges, the rest is built by FG and colonial masters, they are just beautifying lagos, lagos state government is not the one that built lagos.

Lagos is overhype, lagos Island which include Vi,lekki,Ikoyi is the only beautiful place in lagos,it was developed by the colonial masters, the rest is just a dead zone,is it Ojo,Orile,Iddo,Ajegunle,Ikorodu,Ipaja, mushin,Egbeda,Ikotun,Ijesha, onipanu etc that is developed

You knows nothing about lagos, you just fabricating tales out of ur immature mind. Lagos is majorly developed by the state government. Lagos state government built two bridges what an ill talk the flyover bridges in lagos mainland alone is higher than those in abuja, and all other 35 state combine (no exaguration). You can't compare lagos as the country's capital to lagos of 2day. Even abuja the FG hub can't outrun lagos.

The only brigde so far the lagos state government build is new Ikoyi bridge, the second one is not yet completed, I am not talking of fly over short bridge, when you go to lagos island you will see 3rd mainland bridge and other network of bridges that make lagos island thick, all is built by FG and colonial masters.

I tell something... a lot of people from different states are in Lagos hustling. No doubt Lagos is a yoruba state and we have more yorubas in lag. But we need to be honest with ourselves, without other tribes coming to Lagos to hustle, Lagos will be phucked up and boring. We all need one another to live progressively. My guy, go ladipo on a public holiday like today and see how dry it is. Of course all of us know say na igbo boys plenty pass for ladipo. So we all can continue to have fun with the afonja and flattino bashing, but at the end of the day, na hustle all man dey and mutual respect is paramount. Lagos is what it is today by the collective effort of different people from different backgrounds including non Nigerians. My flattinos should stop claiming they developed Lagos though because if they did, then all eastern states should be better than Lagos, same thing goes for yorubas and other tribes
