Having shared some emotional and/or physical attachment to someone it's not easy to simply forget. U get used to doing certain things certain ways and they almost become habits.

As u know habits are not always easily thrown off becos they've become part of ur subconscious psyche.

Breaking off from someone not only involves a physical action to be carried out the mental component must not be ignored which a lot of people do, leading them to constantly 'be in touch' mentally even wen they are not physical in touch.
