EVIDENCE OF A NEW LIFE
The evidence of our stand with Christ is in the life we leave. If our lives are not affected when we receive Christ, if there’s no longing after righteousness, if we still easily long after things that has no spiritual values. Then something is wrong with our confession and belief, is also evident we need spiritual help from a mature believer. Because for us to be the new creature apostle Paul wrote about in the book of 2 Corinthians 5:17, is a must that our heart will be affected, our choice of friends will be affected, our conversation will be affected and how we view things will also be affected. For if the above areas of our lives receive not spiritual turnaround, and then it means that something is wrong with our new found faith.
Is also good to note that if our friends, neighbor and family, haven’t notice or seen the change in us then I assure you we are deceiving ourselves. Jesus said that the believers are salt of the world in the book of Matthew 5:13. That means we are reference point for all good standard of leaving, so it will be stupid of us to say we don’t care about what people think of us. Every serious believer must and should long that people see Christ in him or her. Our main mission through the help of the Holy Spirit is to model our lives after that of Jesus, so that when people think of us they think Christ.
Is noteworthy that without evangelism; sharing Christ with our family, friends and neighbor, we have 90% chances of losing our salvation and sliding into hypocrisy. Matthew 7:19 Jesus said “every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” We will struggle as Christian if we do not make effort to bear fruit as Christians, there’s no barring Christian. In the book of Mark 11:14, Jesus cursed a fig tree because there was no fruit in it, even though it wasn’t it season. That is to say we should and must bear fruit as Christians in season and out of season, 2 Timothy 4:2.
I pray that God will give us strength to maximize his righteousness in us in Jesus name amen.
