I don't believe death can be prevented as everyone dies at the exact appointed time by God.

Her husband died very early...she trained them all single handedly...she was very strict and a beautiful christian but her eldest daughter had a fight with the first son and she manipulated the younger siblings against him...

Sorry for your loss.
However:
Don't give undue power to someone who's not even capable of wielding such.
I believe these children are all grown. I don't believe in the said 'manipulation'.
The question should be what did the eldest brother do to his siblings that they all decided not to have anything to do with him?
Unless mentally retarded, I can't stop talking or keeping malice with any sibling of mine because another sibling said so.
Anyway, stress has been known to cause a myriad of diseases in the body. Its sad she's dead now. Hope the older members of your family can resolve the issues between the siblings.
If that's not possible, life still goes on. Some folks are just not cut out for family relationships.
I have a co worker that hasn't spoken to her sister for more than 10years, and their parents let them be respecting their wishes not to have anything to do with each other. She's a white woman sha and forbade her parents from ever mentioning anything about her or happening to her to the sister. The sister never even knew she lost her husband till more than 5 years after the incident. Yet, this woman is still adamant on never talking to the sister or even about the sister. I don't know what caused their rift till date.

I feel your pain dear and I'm very sorry for your loss.

With that being said....stop the grief typing because you'll share things youll live to regret. Its their mother you know, you are but a relative. Its their mother. I dont mean to sound harsh but we all give our parents hell, direclty or indirectly. Just be the cousin they need at this time.....over and above that......stop.

I wanna believe you're a good lady. Mourn your aunt and forget the rest. She deserves that

My dear your conclusion was very WRONG.... the whole concept of PARENT-CHILD relationships is Train UP a child in the way he should go and when he is older he won't depart from it
The story is a sad and pathetic one and am sorry for the death of the dear woman BUT Everything rises and falls on TRAINING.

In many home it is the father that is the disciplinarian but the MUM soft and can bend discipline to soothe her childrens' comfort
If they were TRAINED... I MEAN THE REAL AFRICAN TOUGH TRAINING...even if they were thugs outside... THEY WOULD DO EVERYTHING TO MAKE THEIR MUM HAPPY.

SOW GOOD DISCIPLINED TRAINING IN TO A CHILD TODAY AND YOU WILL REAP A MATURE WISE ADULT TOMORROW.
Maybe now she is dead, they will see how harsh their attitudes were and put it all away.

America is a clear example of pampered childhood... INDISCIPLINE is just as high as CREATIVITY... hence gay, lezbian and even all sorts of vices are learned from there.

THIS IS A LESSON FOR ALL.

America is full of vices yet Nigerians troop there like village people to traditional wedding.

Rip. I have to say she didn't do a good job training them. I speak from experience. Paying school fees and training up children in love are totally different. I know a family like this, all grown up but no love amongst them.
As a parent the most important thing is to train your kids to love themselves. Even if they quarrel they will make up in no time. This is the tiny stuff a lot of people miss. Once you notice them drifting apart start by dishing their food on a big tray. Teach them to eat together and do chores together.

Crazy mentality
Nobody can training their kids to love one other
What make kids love one other are
You all love your mother unconditional
No selfishness
Morally support one other

You just said what's on my mind
Most parents treat a single child with preferential care to the others which is very bad cos it can cause alot in the future

Like greatn.aija01 said, it all comes down to training. My kids are still little but I always try to instill love amongst themselves. Noone dares beats the other, they apologise to one another when wrong, help one another and always defend one another against outsiders. I hope they grow in it.

Its not easy for a single parent to care for the kids though. They are most likely too busy with work to instill the right values in them and the kids turn wayward.

Lets try to put our kids first always.

@ Refiner= Op, it is a pity for the death of your loved ones.

You have to note one thing, those children would end up not having peace for having to contribute negatively to what led to their mother's death.

Since her eldest child who started this is a woman, she would end up paying same price as her own children would end up treating her same way.

Try to take care of your dad and loved ones who missed her and allow God to take control. Take heart as God would heal the wound.
