... and so the handlers should use their common sense. They should tell us what is wrng with him and advise him to go to FEC meeting and sit down so he can douse tension. |

fergie001:Mr. Man, you're missing the point. Buhari asked for the resignation of Yar'adua because he was out of the country for treatment without handing over to his deputy as stipulated by the constitution. Yar'adua was to handover to Jonathan but the cabal then didn't allowed. Ill health is part of human race and the constitution captured that, the public service rule also create room for sick leave. There's nothing wrong if the president is sick. The picture here is for him to do the right thing when ill or indisposed not to create vacuum (handover). If Yar'adua had handed over to Jonathan then, the constitutional breach would not have happened and he would not have asked for his impeachment. You guys need to stop quoting out of context. His motive was on constitutional provision that Yar'adua breached and thank God is his kinsman. The only condition that can make him resign is if he's incapacitated and there are guidelines to ascertained that constitutionally. Please always put in mind that presidents are no angels and they are bound to be sick and constitutionally has four months to be off work for treatment, if he followed constitutional laid down rule of conveying same to National Assembly. 1 Like 1 Share |

Why is he asking what the big deal is when he knows that the same people have elevated the President over the Presidency, when the fortunes of the country is not tied to functional institutions for which he plays only the role of leadership but tied to him as a sort of superman that rescues cats out of trees and helps grannies cross busy streets. It is his followers that have made the Nigerian state appear as a monarchy instead of a democracy and by that relegated or neglected their responsibilities as citizens to develop their nation. If his health is not a big deal like that of George Bush Snr, then his Presidency and government should be something close to George Bush's in structure and functionality then people will not worry. Frankly I am not angry or fed up like most others about this drama that has dominated the airwaves and cyberspace to the detriment of the nation. I am just so sorry for Nigerians that cannot learn from events just a few years old. Nobody learns anything in this country we often call intelligent and go getting. Does it mean a change of government just past and in the future will continue to create the same unfortunate scenarios over and over again...... 1 Like |

frank202012:You guys are terrible. Are you telling us presidents are angels and are unfallible. I don't think you even read the piece before making this uninformed comment. The writer have four USA presidents that were sick and no one made a fuss out of it or were they asked to resigned. The constitution itemised what can make president resigned when indisposed or incapacitated and there are guidelines to follow to ascertain that constitutionally. Presidents all over the world sick but their citizens don't make case out of it. Jonathan was sick and flown to Germany during his tenure which the then opposition were asking for the state of his health. The issue should be did he followed constitutionally laid down rule as stipulated. That's handing over to his deputy. That was where Yar'adua missed it when he refused to handover to Jonathan when on medical trip, that was why Buhari asked for his impeachment. |
