Thieves...seizing Igbo goods. Have you ever heard of Hausa-Fulani goods being seized? As for Afonja, they don't import anything of significance...they are good at consuming.

The highest volume of smuggling happens in the north, yet you will not hear about customs seizing their goods. Alhajis are the highest smugglers in Nigeria. The number of custom official stationed from Ore to the East is more than the whole customs official stationed in the whole parts of Nigeria. Sometimes when Igbos cry of marginalization, some folks think they re displaying victim mentality, but thats the reality. May God help us.

The funniest part is that this same goods went through same customs at Lagos ports abi the goods fall from heaven?

You have shown this because maybe the importer refused to settle you. Criminals in custom uniform. Were you not the ones that released them at the wharf?
The police is a baby to the customs when it comes to corruption.
Mad people.

The only solution is to stop importing contraband goods.
How many Customs Officers can one settle? You settle one unit, they tip off the next unit.
People are plain stvpid.

Mr. Uba, you are a failure! Where were you and your men when these items entered the Nigerian territory? Aren't you guys supposed to man the boarders? The last time I checked Owerri or Enugu has no International boundary. So, you allowed the items to move from the boarders to the hinterland and then waylaid them there! What if these chaps had dropped some along the way? What if the ones they dropped were firearms & explosives?
please wisen-up. Don't embarrass yourself again with this type of Press Release that only trumpet incompetence & mediocratic tendencies.

How did they escape custom duty payment in the first instance, all those on the route they passed should be sacked to wake up the custom guys from their sleep.
