There is a bed , pillows a mattress on the bed, covers, a colour television a roof over their heads. He is wealthy in so many ways. Most people have to start from somewhere and this is his foundation.
So yes I would stay.

The only problem I have with the house is the wall. It's so dirty.

Burrrtttt, those walls look like a Roach-Paradise o(Did he move in there yesternight?)

And the Room itself could do with some serious touching-up! Not everything's about money. Enough Home & Gardening Mags, FB, IG & Pinterest Groups dey wey fellas fit join up to learn a thing or 2 instead of mostly exhausting their data on P0rn sites OR pushing dumb tribalistic mof0-agenda threads all over the net.

Whites be going natural, making shelves out of wood and cement blocks wrapped in colorful wrappings; getting creative with great one-room apartment decor but we're celebrating this visionless, ramshackle, ragamuffin subsistence level drudgery. How much is a 4Ltr can of Emulsion Paint? And he has a TV with probably GoTV or Startimes o! Maybe, he should've spent more time watching less LaLiga and more FLN!

It's not all about money. Doing up that room needs a lot less money and more creativity! Doesn't he go places from time to time? What's he learning from visiting better places? How's the personal passion for self-betterment reflecting in his immediate life and environment? What has he to offer the girl apart from promises and dikc?

Sometimes, we guys be expecting too much from these girls like say we you born them? If na so e easy, why not take ur sis to dinghy ghetto and give her to motorpark conductors to bed her there? Yet, stupid stereotypes are hyped daily on some girl staying with you in dirty squalor as a proof of true love? Ol'boy, that one na foul o, i fitn't agree, nba! Why won't they be dumping your sorry arsses. How d'your dikcs rise without any meaningful plan for economic betterment of your present living except showing off poverty on perennial basis? undecided.

See the walls, see the floor, the arrangement of the place sef. Guy, they had better been "the breadseller & her vulcanizer guy" o! Or some illiterates who don't know better otherwise I don't see any reason under heaven to celebrate them being in that filth or him, bringing any girl for any prolonged period of time to that rank den! Mehn, folks be needing an education, a brain reset or sumfin...

Bottomline: Don't invite anyone to share your poverty if you're not doing much to get out of it soon AND don't complain if/when they leave you there if you stay too long, instead be grateful for the time/resources they gave you during their stay and, you too, move your arsse out!
I might be over-reacting though...just ma piece, niggs dunt have to like it!

A girl can even stay in a mud house with you if she loves you or rather thinks she loves you.

Go to the villages and see teenage boys especially the local cult boys living with wives and children in a one room apartment and these aren't even taken care of.

So forget social media standards, couples live in worse places. Moreover what that room really needs is painting, that's all.

True...but, what if he has plans in motion to leave and get a better place?
Or maybe saving up for a course he needs to advance his career/business

Like you said, it's questionable when the same thing is done with no effort of improvement, but it's worth it when the person has a value worth more than what you see

Atleast he has shelter and a bed to lay his head on, there are so many homeless people in the U.S. who are living under bridges, living at the river bottom and are living in card board boxes who would love to have his place to live in.
Now, he can do some serious cleaning especially on those walls, some soap, water and bleach will do

If my house is like this, I don't think I will be interested in getting a girlfriend.

I will be more interested in improving the aesthetic beauty of my house and improving my living condition.

Any girl that really comes after me, no problem, but for me to go after them, Nah.

Poverty mentality: I see no reason why you both can't buy paint and paint the house together if you cannot afford a painter.

Misplaced priorities: Why buy a TV and cable sef, when you can use the funds to uplift the look of the apartment. What happened to listening to the radio.

Lastly there's a difference between being poor and dirty, the folks here are just dirty people.

This is what men, some Nigerian men have resulted to - sharing financial responsibilities.
It's shameful to say the least.
Do you see we ladies asking you to carry our pregnancy for 9 months.
This might sound harsh but any man that waits , expects, or counts on a lady chipping in financially is NOT a man.
What rubbish sef, while I understand that times are hard in Nigeria with the unemployment situation and all, some men have just become pussies.

I'm a strong advocate of women helping if able, but it shouldn't be mandatory, a real man shouldn't and mustn't count on that.
Hustle hard & try your best, if no results a good woman can assist, but don't plan on that assistance.
