Good to be good. That was I saw 1000 naira note inside a note book in one of those lecture halls in Uniben(petroleum engineering). Luckily the person wrote down the phone number of her close friend on the note book. So I called the number. And she immediately inform the owner of the book. The Next day, the owner met me and I gave her the book and money

Mean while this is how some nairaland members will be feeling right now wishing it was their account.

On the 22nd of last month I mistakenly transferred N40,000 to one Yusuph Olasunkanmi Ismail with GTBank account number...... and the man has refused to return my money.

GTBank and GTConnect made it possible for the man to withdraw all the money less N1,000 because it took them about 48 hours to block the account after I complained and submitted their indemnity form.

My account officer has called the guy several times and he has refused to return my money.

So you shouldn't spend the money that was mistakenly transferred to you. It was not meant for you after all, that would be fraudulent, don't you think?
bizzibodi:

why shld bank just dip their hands into yur acct & withdraw money without yur consent?that is fraud.

Easy, the person that sent the cash would have complained to the bank and they'd have released the recipient's number.
The bank could have easily reverted the transfer instead of releasing the phone number.

Banks don't just release customers details like that.

Yes o. ...and I'll agree to the 60-40, take my time and track you down and stick a blade in your neck. The balance will be useful for the funeral. Not because of the amount, but just because it pays to clearify 'sharp guys' doubts from time to time.
