Plantain And Cocoa Farming : Which One Is More Lucrative? by nikenry(f): 3:37pm On Jun 05, 2017 |
Experts in the house, Pls help me to analyse. I am actually confused. Plantain farming 5acres = 2 hectares of land 1000 suckers = 1 acre of land 5000 suckers =5 acres of land. : 2 hectares of land can produce 5,000bunches of plantain. If a bunch is sold for #400 5000*400=2,000,000. Cocoa farming According to a report I read , an hectare of land should produce a tonne of cocoa beans. As at today, a tonne of cocoa is between #800, 000 and #1million. 2hectares = 2 tonnes of cocoa beans let's say a tonne is #900,000, 2 hectares = 2*900,000= 1,800,000. NB: My calculations does not take into account expenses for farm management which may be the same for the two crops. Pls house, are my calculations right? I will appreciate people that have practical experience in the two crops to throw more light. Thanks |
