This is a typical of Yoruba man. I'm not surprised. Obafemi Awolowo and his Yoruba Kingdom betrayed the Igbos.

Al-Mustapha was arrested and held in Kirikiri as far back as 1998. (19 years ago )
He had to wait till 2017 to tell Igbo's that he had a Video tape that could have vindicated him of murder... Lol kirikir must be a 5 star hotel
And remember he was sentenced to death by supreme court only to be pardoned by mumu jonathan thinking he will help him win north.
This guy killed abiola and he will soon meet him
Anyways abiola was dead and the agreement with abdulsalam was go back to democracy and hand over to a yoruba man, and guess what..... thats exactly what happened cool

It's rather amusing to read the emotional and prejudiced trash most posters wrote on this issue without deep reflection.
Al--Mustapha chose the right forum to spill his trash - a gathering of dim-wits of his own ilk.

1. He alleged the yoruba elders collected money from MKO's killers. Who are those killers ? Since he mentioned the names of receipients, why not reveal the names of givers for equity ?
2. If he knew the killers and kept quiet until now, does that not make him an accessory after the fact by law ?
3. For his so-called video tape to make sense, then it must include conversations that took place prior to the exchange of money, otherwise, it is a charade set up for ulterior motives. I say this because it is a standard practice that non-official visitors to Aso Rock are usually given money to defray the cost of their trip.
4. Having said that, granted that they were given money to silence them, the question now is, were they silenced ? No. The struggle was carried on until they almost made Nigeria to collapse leading to Abacha's death. Eventually, they were pacified with the presidency. So if the money exchange was to silence them, apparently it failed to achieve its purpose meaning that the yoruba elders played them a dummy which means they were smarter for two reasons -
a) it would've been stupid of them to refuse the money offered because they didn't ask for it, it was part of the national cake which belonged to all and sundry, they needed money to prosecute the struggle to bring down the despotic government, plus, knowing the devilish gestapo mafia in uniform they were dealing with, common sense dictated that it was safer for them to accept the money to make believe they would play along rather than to refuse indicating their intention to carry on the struggle and falling prey to assassination or a mysterious death.

Having said that, it is pertinent to state that the yoruba did not fight for the actualisation of June 12 only because MKO was yoruba. Not at all. If it had happened to any other tribe, they would have fought for it. It is in their gene to fight injustice regardless of who is involved.
Recall that Awolowo went out of his way to fight on behalf of Abduraman Shugaba who was deported by Shagari's NPN. He did it free on rail yet the man was neither of his tribe nor belonged to his party.
Ofcourse it can be argued that the yoruba pursued the struggle to fruition even after all non-yoruba members had abandoned NADECO because they considered it a slight on the tribe if the injustice stood.
One angle non-yorubas may not know about the entire episode is that MKO was not in the good books of the yoruba because he utilised his resources and Concord newsgroup to frontally fight Awolowo and the UPN, hence the entire yoruba. MKO was severally warned to play politics with sense and civility because
the people whose trust he was courting by so doing would never allow him taste the presidency but all fell on deaf ears.
Shagari was a globe-trotter yet not once did he officially transfer power to his vice, Ekwueme throughout their tenure to demonstrate their distrust of a southerner with power.
It was a marvel that the yoruba voted for MKO in the first place. This was generally because the system allowed only two choices but particularlly because information had gone round that MKO had gone to Awolowo to prostrate, beg and reconcile for his misdemeanour before the latter died.
Even then, Awo's curse, which was apparently not retracted, came to pass - that MKO may get to the presidency but will never taste it.
Therefore, it may not be out of place to say that yoruba's struggle for June 12 was a mixture of reluctance and the innate will to fight for justice.

All Mustapha's revelation is for stoopid folks like him...
Those who can't process information and those who haven't been born in 1998 or those who were too young to know their left from their right...
Yoruba leaders didn't fight for June 12 because of Abiola.I wish someone can sit Mustapha down and tutor him about Yoruba history. We didn't fight for Abiola but for democracy as we would have fought if Abiola had been from the East or elsewhere.Gani Fawehinmi didn't fight the Abacha regime because of Abiola.Nduibishi Kanu didn't fight because of Abiola.Wole Soyinka didn't operate Radio Freedom because of Abiola. They all fight the military because of the need for emancipation from the dictatorial tendencies of the military boys.It was only the agents of the Abacha regime and the Northern hegemonidts who labelled the June 12 Struggle a 'Yoruba Struggle'...
We all knew Abiola as a friend of the military boys. They were the ones who enticed him into politics. If not for the ban on the old politicians ,Abiola would have stood no chance of being supported in Yorubaland because the Yorubas saw him as anti-Awo and pro-Hausa....
Abiola only became a symbol of the struggle and when he died, there was no need to continue fighting since the so-called political leaders were assured by the military leaders that only Yorubas would be cleared to contest the 1999 election.
Don't forget that the human right activists and the civil society leaders like Gani Fawehinmi and Femi Falana never supported this initiative. They wanted Nigeria to conduct a national conference before a civil transition..
So,Yoruba leaders didn't betray Abiola. If they had done that, they would have abandoned the struggle before Abiola's death...But they didn't...And the death of Abiola clearly had the input of foreign agents. Is Mustapha telling us that Opadokun and co should have fought the American diplomats who we suspected ?
Mustapha had problems with Abdusalam. He messed up and was perceived as arrogant to his superiors. That was the beginning of his travails..He should stop deceiving the people with tales by the moonlight.
Those who arranged Abacha's death also arranged Abiola's death. It was to settle scores. He should keep quiet and mind his business with the Igbos.

A tape showing that money was received will not tell a complete story. It is said that visitors to the villa may be given cash to defray their expenses. Anyway the NADECO battle didn't stop after that. So the money ( if any) had no effect. The long drawn battle culminated in the election which had Obasanjo and Falae as candidates which OBJ won.

A touch of History..
Abiola was living under a curse which came to pass. When he was rude to Pa Awolowo because of an opposition party, he was told that even though he may see the throne, he will not get there. Sadly so it happened after a variety of events which had nothing to do with Awo.
