If at this point you still stand with Buhari or support the demonic APC, then you need to be isolated from normal human beings with your brain removed asap and placed under research in order for scientists to ascertain the record breaking level of stupidity and senselessness present in just one brain. 4 Likes |

obonujoker: Because the govt does not have the money to fund universities adequately. Even under the good times of GEJ, university funding fell. Fees started going up back then.GEj got ASUU to take a cut of 2 trillion naira from the 3 trillion promised in extra funding in 2009....a big part of the reason why fees are shooting up. ( in fairness, if Nigerians had allowed GEJ to remove fuel subsidy in 2012...the money might have been there, and the cut need not have been made) Buhari needs to up his game, but the solutions he needs to apply that would improve funding ie industrialized Nigeria, diversified economy..... Is going to take years to get. Meanwhile we are so oil reliant and oil has fallen, meaning allocations are falling. 2 Likes |

This is questionable, LASU's current school fees is N25k not N96k as he said, and the Vice chancellor in a recent publication denied any planned increase. 5 Likes |

facelessangel: Regardless of who won the elections in 2015 , fees would have gone up. Oil is our major revenue source, and the fall in revenue from falling oil prices means higher fees |

[quote author=TheSociopath post=57865771]No fewer than 38 universities across the country have increased their tuition fees as a result of poor funding by the Federal and State governments. The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan Chapter, Dr Deji Omole, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday. The statement which assessed the two years of President Muhammadu Buhari in office, lamented that the current government had made Nigerians poorer. Omole said that the public education was not taken seriously because most children of the rich and those in high offices do not attend school in Nigeria. “The latest increment might be attributed to poor funding by the federal and state governments as ASUU poorly rated the President Muhammadu Buhari in the area of funding of university education. ASUU also noted that it would be difficult for any Nigeria university to effectively compete globally with the inadequate allocation of budgetary funding as prescribed by UNESCO to fund education. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that University of Lagos (UNILAG) which was paying N14, 500 would now pay N63, 500 as tuition fees.
