Wow!
Boss, I must confess that you love value for money. Followed your building right from the beginning.

Does the inverter support lithium battery or you had to make adjustment in the charging settings?

What is the capacity of the PylonTech batteries and how much can one get it in Nigeria? Interesting stuff and thanks for sharing.

Thank God it does that was one of the reason i went for the inverter with Charge controller. It has different variant of the inverter
Voltronic, Axpert,MPP, FSP & more i am hanging the settings for the inverter

One pylontech comes with 50ah and it is a usable charge of 2200kwh.
About getting them in Nigeria i know nothing about that, but a few pages back somebody was talking about bringing the BYD batteries to Nigeria from a solar company. mine was transported down from base

48V X 50AH = 2400WH (2200wh usable due to battery chemistry, unlike regular AGM which is about 1200wh usable).

Vertical industry integration ensures more than 4500 cycles with 90% DoD or 6000 cycles with 80% DOD (please note most devices will set the DOD at 80%)

What would be your suggested setup for such load for 30 mins run time

It solely depends on battery chemistry ! The carbon battery can serve for this purpose since the 2000w estimated load would serve just for 30min. 24×200=4800wh , even on 50% DOD , you can still run your load momentarily for 30min with a 3-4kw 24v power inverter .. Worst scenario, opt in for 48v design! You can simply WhatsApp me for carbon battery datasheet ! Cheer's

-Schneider Homaya 1500va 24v Solar Hybrid inverter System.

Price: N79,000 N75,000

Quick Overview
Proven value for off-grid, backup power and self-consumption

ConextTM SW is perfect for off-grid, backup power and self-consumption applications, it is a pure sine wave, hybrid inverter system with switchable 50/60 Hz frequencies, providing power for every need. For expanded off-grid capacity, the Conext SW is integrated with fuel-based generators as required to support loads larger than the generator’s output.

It’s also self consumption ready, able to prioritize solar consumption over the grid, while maintaining zero grid export. The Conext SW works with the grid to avoid peak utility charges and support the grid when utility supply is limited. Accessories include pre-wired universal DC distribution panel and AC distribution panels. Stacking two Conext SW units will double the system’s total output power and available solar charge controllers allow for the integration of solar capacity as required.

If you heed Oga MctFopt's advice and go for energy saving bulbs - using aggressive consumption measures, 2 energy saving bulbs would take 50w, 1 Fan 80w, TV and decoder 120w, Inverter Self Consumption 30w - a total of 280watts max

A 12v 500va to 1kva range inverter such as SuKam or Luminous or Microtek or Amaron Quanta/Tribal sells is more than sufficient - ideally you would want 2 pieces of 12v 200Ah batteries in parallel at a minimum. I recommend you stick with a 12v inverter for this entry level installation so you can minimise battery management issues.

How long the system backs you up for is relative to how many of your desired appliances you want to run at once and how long you want your system to last - 280w of loads at once would run for approximately 10hours before you hit the 50% DoD cutoff point and you can expect on average 18months to 2 years battery life if used this way.

I would recommend you consider adding a smart charger to complement your inverter (those small inverters have low charge current and average charge algorithms) so you can return power to your batteries reasonably quickly.

Above all, the more your appliances are energy efficient e.g TV using just 50w vs 120w, the happier you would be in the long term.

What part of Lagos do you stay in? You can choose any of the many well recommended installers on this forum to perform your installation.

Please how much does a smart charger go for?

Where can I get one ?

What's the price range ?

And can it work with a 3.5 kva generator ?

Cannot be paralleled !

It is the same as the luminous NXG 1500 -( schneider bought luminous ) quite good product for small home as as large UPS system .

Thanks Pranil, would this work for 4 pcs of 12v 200Ah. Or best suited for just 2.

Also, series or parallel. Which connection would be best for a small setup.

Looking to get this for a small office instead of the Must Power inverter.

Will appreciate your response.

Can charge max at 15 Amps so best suited for 2 pieces of 200 AH ( 5 KWh) as it will take reasonable 6 hours or more to fully charge a discharged battery but if your neap is fairly stable you can go for a bigger battery

Specially as in case of office it will get fully charged over weekends
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 1:53pm On Dec 27, 2018
On top of what Oga Pranil has said, given that your chosen inverter can deploy a proper charge algorithm to your batteries and you want to optimize charge speed, you can integrate a telecomms DC power supply (used sells for max 25k) in parallel with your inverter (parallel on DC side only please) to get you through the boost charge phase faster.

This hack is especially useful if you plan on four batteries vs two - you could also parallel a second inverter or two el-cheapo 12v chargers (unconventional and battery wiring must support this) but be sure any chargers you may add can both stay at the proper absorb voltage for your batteries and transit to float when done.

The overall cheapest method I have found to successfully use a small size, small charge capacity inverter with a relatively oversized battery bank is to incorporate a telecomms DC power supply as these are capable of safely charging the battery and cutting off when done - to be clear they are not battery chargers rather they are DC Power Supply Units and so cannot get your battery through absorb but only help to push through the boost phase faster.

To be clear, all inverter & charger parallel connections I mentioned are strictly battery side - do not attempt to parallel the inverter AC output side except the inverter explicitly supports this or you know a failure proof method to bring the two inverter phases in sync with each other.
